We were planning on going the last week of July, but then learned that my son will start his college program the 6th of July.
Since my daughter and my niece will still be in school until the 11th of June and no snow days are built into our schedule I did want to chance going the week of June 19th so I changed our week to June 26th to July 3rd.
What can I expect crowd wise? It has been quite a while since I have gone in the summer. The MK is always crowded on Saturdays, do you think that the 3rd will be even worse since it will lead into the 4th of July holiday?

We went that time frame this past summer, but July 3rd was a Thursday and we didn't go to the parks on the last day anyway. We spent July 3rd at the resort pool. We noticed a significant increase in crowds on the afternoon of July 2nd. I would definitely stay away from MK on that Saturday. Since you are going the 26th, you'll have plenty of time to go to MK on other days.

Yes, it was crowded but not as bad as Christmas Week by any means. Since the 4th is on a Sunday this year, I don't think you'll really see the big crowds until Friday. The good news is the parks have expanded hours and they are fully staffed. Plus none of the attractions were closed. I would recommend staying on site. It made transportation much easier. We were at the Dolphin, which was great, and had really good bus/boat service to all parks. We did follow the Day After theory in visiting the parks. We went to a park the Day After they had Early Entry. It worked really well. Where ever you go, GO EARLY. We also made PS's for before the park opened, so we got in even earlier.

I like the idea of having PS early in the morning, especially in the MK. The last couple of years I have gone in the beginning of December or the end of September. I have not gone in the summer since 1995, so I am a bit nervous about going in the summer.
I think our last day we will just stay away from the MK.
