How busy are weekends?

We're planning on visiting next February half term and at the moment are debating whether to go Saturday - Wednesday or Monday - Friday. I'm just wondering how busy are the parks on Sunday? We're thinking about doing BBWWS and if we go Monday - Friday the only day we can go on is the Tuesday, whereas if we go Saturday - Wednesday we've got the choice going Sunday, Monday or Tuesday. Plus looking at previous years opening hours the parks tend to be open later at the weekends. The only thing that's holding me back from making the booking is the fact that DS has high functioning autism and really doesn't cope well with crowds. Curse my indecisiveness!

You've got Northern France on holiday then too, don't know about other neighbouring countries, weekends will be maybe a bit busier than the week as locals come then and Sundays can be busier than Saturdays as no one works on them

Lot depends on the weather as if it's as cold as this year lots of people won't bother going especially when they live within a 3hr driving distance of the park

You will always get crowds during holidays so I'd just book it if the dates are good for you and then plan on doing things like shows in Studios on the Sunday if you felt it was really busy :goodvibes

That's not a bad idea, was thinking about having our first full day there as a quiet, get up late kind of a day so heading to the studios to watch the shows makes sense. We've been 3 times and never seen Cinemagique! There'll also be WoD to explore and we could take advantage of the Village being a bit quieter during the day as we always seem to end up there after the main parks close along with the rest of the masses.

I don't do queues at DLP, but have bitten the bullet at least 3 times now and gone over a full weekend. As Carrie says, concentrate on the shows on the weekends, do EMH if you can for the rides your DS would enjoy, first hour of the Studios isn't usually too bad for ride queues, also last hour of the Studios day quietens down too.

On weekend dates you have the character dance at the DLH at 4pm in the winter, this is usually fairly quiet even though the parks may be mobbed.

We do our main meal (and take our time over it) at lunchtime in the Village on weekend dates, then when the main parade is over in the park, it can get a little quieter for the rides, although you may still have to rely on fastpass if you don't want to queue for over 30 minutes.

Would your son qualify for an access pass because of his autism? That might make things more manageable for him.

I'm not sure, he was only diagnosed with it a few weeks ago and we're trying to get our heads round it. It's something that we'll definitely be looking into. At the moment I'm trying to find out if he'd be entitled to the Legoland equivolent as we're taking him there for his birthday at the end of August.

I'm no expert but I do think autism is one of the reasons you would get an access pass (and a very valid one of course). Fairly sure Nikki (scampbunny) has a son who is autistic and she gets a pass. Think you need a Doctor's note but not sure where you take it - City Hall maybe?

Once you get a bit more sorted it might be worth emailing DLRP and asking about this - what you will need etc as I think in your genuine case, it will be a godsend for you :thumbsup2.

Hope you manage to get one for Legoland too - we went there last year for two days as part of a longer 'London' trip and my DDs loved it - in fact almost as much as DLRP I think! ;)
