I'll be at US/IOA (for the first time!) from March 22-March 26. While there, Sean Paul will be the performer for Mardi Gras :cool1:

How busy do the concerts usually get? Where's the best spot to watch the parade and then the concert, and what time should I be there?

TIA!

Very, very, very busy!!!! ... at least last weekend (the 24th, Taylor Hicks).

Pick one, either the parade or the concert .... you will probably not be able to do both. If you want to watch the parade, you will not get anywhere near the stage to see the concert after the parade, you'll be lucky to be able to see the giant tv screens on either side of the stage. If you want to see the concert up close, expect to stand (yes stand) in your spot for at least 90 minutes before the concert starts ... and you will miss the parade.

I agree with MSWint, even last Saturday, when it was rainy and the crowd for the parade was sparse, the concert was packed. Given that Sean Paul is arguably the biggest name this year, I'm not sure even 90 minutes will be enough to guarantee a spot up front.

That said, you can hear the music throughout those parts of the park that stay open, and they have about three giant TV screens, if you can live with just being in the general vicinity of the concert.

We saw Sean Paul last time and he was pretty good, we where happy enough to see him from afar, last time after the parade quite a lot left and there was room for a dance:cool1:

We were there this year for Los Lonely Boys (biggest name this year...they have a grammy:joker: ) and it was POURING down rain and about 35 degrees......it was jammed.

IMHO, Sean Paul will have the biggest crowds at Mardi Gras this year. I was there for him last year, and it was ridiculous.:crazy2:

Last weeks Taylor Hicks concert was packed. We had a great view of the parade and after couldnt get anywhere near the concert. That was OK with us though since we were done anyway. I agree with the poster that said pick the parade or the concert if you want an up close spot. What I did get to hear from Taylor just didnt impress me. I would think Daughtry and Sean Paul will be most crowded.

Ok...so I think if we have to choose we'll do the concert. Where's the concert located?

Across the street from Shrek and Monsters Cafe. Walk straight up the street as you enter, it will be on your left.
