We typically travel to WDW in the spring and are wondering how busy it is the 2nd or 3rd week in October?

It is very busy during those 2 weeks, so many schools fall breaks during that time around Columbus Day, also food and wine festival. October is one of the busier months anymore. The first week would be the slowest of the month. The 10-19 will be the busiest this year.

I went during those weeks in 2010 and didn't think it was too bad, better than March/April/Easter/spring break was. BUT I went again in 2014 and it was packed. Much more crowded than the first October I was there. Epcot during Food & Wine was especially crazy, to the point where I won't go again while I have kids. I don't think October is "the month" to go anymore. I'm not sure what the right time is actually, at least in terms of crowds :confused3

We went two years ago for around the Columbus holiday and the crowds were fine and I HATE crowds so you know it was not too crowded. IT was very hot and muggy though.

We are going again this Oct. We also went last year around Sept 20 and the crowds were great. Food and wine was crowded on Firday night when we were there.

We will be there from 10/24 to 11/1.... I plan on it bwing crazy so close to halloween.

We went down the 19th-28th and didn't think it was too crowded. There were a few exceptions though with all the Halloween party's mk gets flooded on the nonparty nights a few hours before close with people wanting to see the parade and fireworks. we did Epcot food and wine on the 20th and had a lot of fun hardly no waits. But then went back on Saturday the 25th and it was packed. Lines for the food and wine booths were at least four times as long. We only stayed about an hour or two and left since we had already done most everything on our previous day and didn't want to deal with the crowd. Use crowd calanders and relize that the mnsshp and f&w affect the crowds and where they will be. Avoid mk on non party nights and Epcot Friday through Sunday.

also we checked out of okw on the 27th then stayed at all star sports on the 27th then flew back the next day. Okw employees were talking about how they needed to get ready for the big Halloween Rush and all star sports was packed. We saw some huge tour groups checking in at all star sports on the 27th.

We were there the week of Columbus Day last year and it was pretty busy, but we had a great time.

We are going the 15th through the 20th. I have gone in early October and it is almost dead, but every year is different. When I booked I checked the outlook for the year and it should be slow. If I remember correctly local schools are not out for any reason. I do expect that it might be a little busy on Friday/Saturday at Food and Wine but I am hoping that MNSSHP will be one of those nights.

When does NJ schools have a week off in October?
The 1st week of October?
The 2nd week of October?

We went in mid-October last year, and it was pretty busy. Avoid the weekend of Columbus Day.

The basic strategy is to avoid the MK on non-party days. If you want to see the Electrical Parade/Fireworks, show up late in the day to catch those.

If you do one of the Halloween Parties, most rides are a walk on. Even Mine Train will have a much shorter wait than usual, because no fast passers slow down the line.

Check out the crowd calendars on a site like this: easywdw.com. It should give you some pretty accurate information, and may help you with your planning. I find the info here very well researched.

We've been there that week in 2010 and 2011. Both years the crowds were low and very enjoyable. We are heading back Oct 10th this year. October is my favorite time of year to be there. We went last year the last week in March and it was crazy. I've never seen it that crowded and I hope to never see it like that again.
