How 'bout them Disney Restrooms?

Okay, I just wanted to say it.....

I am a huge, big time, freak about public restrooms. Some public restrooms make me gag. Others I refuse to go in because they are smelly, unclean and just not my restroom at home. When I have to take my 6-year-old daughter to a public restroom, I cringe and am so scared to let her sit on the potty. I use like 2 liners and and half a roll of toilet paper. (okay, maybe not that much TP)

When I am in Disney, I never freak out. Their bathrooms are always clean. I cannot beleive how clean they keep those public restrooms in the park. I never hesitate to go when I need to. Most of the time I will hold it and hold it and hold it until I am about to explode.

Okay - just wanted to share. I feel better. :earsgirl:

That is so great to know. I am also a crazy person when it comes to public restrooms. I hate when my DD4 has to go. I'm just like you lining the toilet and then holding her up making sure she can't touch. Thank you disney.

Yes, thank you Disney. Disney is top notch when it comes to taking care of their guests.

Not only are they clean, but they are located all around the parks and each one has many stalls so there is rarely a line! My DD (almost 4) gets caught up in play and excitement and puts off going to the bathroom even at home so that when she does decide to go she is in need of a potty fast. I love that at WDW there is always a clean restroom close by with no wait. We try to tell DD to go when she first gets the urge but this somehow hasn't quite complety sunk in! I know lots of other little kids are like that too.

OMG,
I found a website one day devoted to Disney Bathrooms complete with pics, reviews and locations! I was hysterical at the thought of me ever walking out of a stall only to have the toilet photographer snapping pics of the toilets and sinks. I am going to try and find it. You'll crack up!

OK - hate to burst your bubble, but several potties in WDW ladies rooms did not flush and there were nasty messes left in them. The bathroom was busy that I decided to try to flush a filled potty just to make one clear to go ... no luck.

The bathroom, in general, was clean ... except for the bowl. We saw many filled, broken toilets while in MGM & EPCOT. Also, a lot of toilet paper left on the floor.

Maybe we hit them at odd times, but I've seen neater, cleaner bathrooms in the past!

That does not burst my bubble. Considering all of the butts that sit on those toilets, I would expect a few to be broken. Overall, Disney's restrooms are clean and I am not afraid. I would take a Disney restroom with a few malfunctioning stalls over a Best Buy, Wal-Mart, Target, restaurant or Six Flags restroom any day.

frstimer 128 - that potty site is too funny! Thanks for sharing! :)

I agree with bytheblood - yes, there are some malfunctioning toilets you may run into on your trip or one restroom that is not as sparkling clean as the others. However for the amount of people that use each one everyday I just think it is amazing at how clean they are! I will take a Disney restroom over others anyday!! :teeth:

i like the fact that they are self flushing and they have automatic faucets so you don't have to touch to many things. i wish more public bathrooms had these.

i thought that potty (toilet as we say in the uk) site was funny too. my dd5 always needs the loo. we have to stop the car and stop what we are doing regulaly to take her for wee stops. the fact there are loads and they are of a good standard will make this easier. thank you for sharing.

love

lucy
