I can't seem to find a page on the Disney World site for park regulations!! Does anyone know how big of a cooler you can carry? I have one on wheels that would be ideal, but I am afraid they will say it is too big.

OMG we are sooo close! We haven't done ANYTHING for 4 months saving for this trip, so we are ready to go have some fun!!

well since you are technically not allowed to bring in outside food and drink I think a giant cooler on wheels would be pushing it imo.

I believe Disney's official policy is no coolers or food or drink brought in. BUT if you have a small cooler that would fit in say a back pack I don't know that they would say much. The best solution I have heard for this is carrying small snacks and freezing bottled water the night before so you have ice cold water all day long.

If Disneys official policy is no food or drink enters the park, then how is everyone taking in water bottles and snacks in the little lunch coolers? I would think after 9/11 that any kind of bag is being searched. So evidently the policy is not being enforced. Can someone help me out. Has anyone been turned down at the gate for taking something into the park?

A little lunch cooler fitting in a bag/back pack/etc and a cooler on wheels are two different monsters. Could you imagine the cooler traffic if we all brought the almighty cooler of all coolers to the park.

You can not bring in any hard sided coolers, or any coolers on wheels. You also can't use wagons or anything you pull or tote behind you.

A small lunch sized soft sided cooler (fits in your day pack with room to spare) with some bottled water, juice boxes, carrot stciks, granola bars, etc. is not a problem.

Hauling in a cooler filled with three six packs, a watermelon, etc., plus a six foot sub to feed ths family is not going to be allowed.

I brought a soft sided Backpack cooler, and I'm hoping that disney will not mind me filling it with bottles of water. it will hold 15 cans of pop, I dont see how, but thats what it say and its smaller than most backpacks. looks to be the size of a kids backpack.
I used to bring in the six pack cooler which are really small you really can only get a couple of bottles of water in them.
I just know one thing, I'm drinking bottle water, as I got sick last time drinking disney water on the park.
I have never had any one say any thing to me about bringing a couple cans of diet pop, or water with me, as well as snacks.
I would say that about 1/4 of the people going into the parks bring some thing in with them..
snacks, water or pop. I just dont ever remmeber seeing anyone with a hard side cooler on wheels being brought into the park.
The thought of having to deal with a hard side cooler all day long would be to much for me.
I get tired of carrying a small six pack bag in a couple of hours.
I'm hoping the backpack will be easier.

We were at IOA last summer and someone was carting around a cooler on wheels. It took up a lot of space in line, others were getting "rolled upon" and it was just plain inconsiderate in my mind. Sorry, I know that they are convenient, but I'd just take a small thing that could be put into the lockers, or just go out to the parking lot and have a "tailgate party"! :p

Would they let you take in something slightly larger & put it in a locker? I'm not sure of the size/shape of the lockers at the various parks.

We took a 6 pack size cooler. Soft sided, collapsable. I froze water bottles & brought them in, along with some snacks like carrots. A couple of days we brought sandwiches, but it was mostly for the drinks and snacks. If we hadn't had the stroller, I wouldn't have bothered at all with a cooler.

Water has always been ok, and of late so have snacks and SMALL soft sided coolers or coolers that fit in a stroller.
Security checks bags for weapons or things that can cause harm to another. To the best of my knowledge, food is NOT harmful.
It is NOT security's job to be the "food police", so, that argument does not hold water.
Anything that drags behind you, ie: wagons, backpacks on wheels, etc are not allowed as it can cause injury to another person.
Coolers with wheels, are, however, allowed at the water parks.

and WHO would want to lug around a BIG cooler anyway? No thanks!!! I want to play, not WORK!

Hey...I shoud be packing!!!! (YIKES!) I am so busy yapping on these boards and NOT getting ready to leave!

The bag I use is a "9 can" It has 3 zippered pockets on the side.
that I use in lieu of a fanny pack. It fits 6 -1/2 liters of water and
6 juice boxes. It weighs a ton, but saves $30 a day. The price of fatherhood. I stay offsite for 10 days so you can see the savings.
There are 4 adults and two kids in my party.

I keep a full regular size cooler in the car, as I park hop I then replenish the soft sided one for the next park.

I can't imagine dragging even a 6-pack cooler around the parks (unless you have a stroller -- that's a different story). It would be more troublesome than it's worth. You can get water for free, and a child's meal is a cheap lunch.

I agree. Without a stroller, I would not haul....unless hauling made the trip affordable for me and I wouldn't get to go otherwise.....and if that is the case, "ya gotta do what ya gotta do"
