My youngest has been on a mac & cheese kick lately and I'm wondering if this would be even close to sufficient for a 5-yr-old. Can anyone tell me the amount of mac & cheese there is? Would it be approximately the size of a KFC side item?

It wouldn't be for my nephews. It was probably the size of a KFC individual side item, in the neighborhood of 1/3-1/2 a cup?

The toddler meals of mac n cheese would not be enough for my 5 year old. But the mac n cheese at CO is good sized. It was good too!

It is absolutely tiny.

French Market has a mac and cheese kid's meal. It's pretty good, and it's served in a Mickey head flimsy plastic plate. I'm sure we're supposed to throw them away, but we wipe them out, put them in a bag, and use them at home (hand-washing them only). (if you've been to WDW, they are NOT the mickey head plates that you leave there...these are disposable)

I know there must be more kid's meal mac/cheese out there, but that's all I can remember right now.

There is a kid's meal mac & cheese at Flo's Diner in Carsland in DCA. It can also be ordered as a side with the adult meal. It tasted ok. The kid's meal and side portions are the same size.

I'd say it's more like 1/3 of a cup. It's preety teeny. It does come with a standard single-serve applesauce cup and a milk, but I'd put it in the category of "large snack" for a 5-year old rather than a full-on meal.

My DD (3.5) ate one for lunch at the Pacific Warf cafe and gobbled it down. She was still hungry after she finished it, so she shared my bread bowl with me, and that filled her up.

I'd suggest making sure whatever meal you get has shareable side order, or to bring some hearty snacks like string cheese or granola bars into the park with you if you don't want to have to buy snacks in the park.

At some of the restaurants, it was the best kids meal option for my DD, even though it really was too small. We knew she would eat the whole thing, but we also knew she would need to share our meals with her or get her a snack sooner than normal.

Hope it helps!

It's the size of one of Mickey's ears in that disposable/re-usable Mickey face plate that the kid's meal comes in.

It's made by Stouffer's Commercial Division. It's enough food for a 3 year-old, along with it's side dish. Very, very tiny. Same product as the Mac and Cheese at Red Robin.

Cafe Orleans has a macaroni and cheese, as does French Market, and Village Haus. Plaza Inn has macaroni (Penne pasta) and either a spaghetti sauce or a marinara sauce.

Thanks for all the replies! I'm glad that there are other places that serve mac & cheese. I never know with my DD, sometimes she eats next to nothing, and other times she'll eat quite a bit more. From the picts, it looks like the applesauce is a little bigger than the mac & cheese. I'd probably be better off trying one of the other places (unless I buy two and DD7 has the extra milk & applesauce - she's a bit more adventurous and often shares whatever I'm having).

Thanks!
