It's not quite as big as a twin bed but for an adult or teenager who's not overly tall or on the smaller size it would be comfy For kids it would definelty be comfy.
When we stayed there, my nephew (who was 6 at the time) slept there every night and was very comfortable. I used it a few times during the day and had no troubles fitting on it.
My 15 year old son slept there and never complained (and he will complain about anything slightly annoying). He was six foot tall and weighed 200 pounds at the time.
you are lucky with your son....at the time my son was 15, he was about the same size as yours and all he did was complain...kept saying either he smacked his head or jammed his feet all night. My daughter who is just under 5'4" did just fine, she said she was very comfortable.
There is an extra sheet, blanket and pillow in the closet. If you want more, just call housekeeping. We stayed at BC for 4 days and they just kept the sheet, blanket and pillow on the daybed and actually just made up the daybed.
I don't know if they sizes are the same between BWI, Poly, BC but it looked about the same when we stayed at an AKL room that had a daybed. So I'm assuming they're probably all the same size.
Again, for visual reference, this is the daybed at AKL and DH there is 6'3":
