How big are pizzas at Via Napoli?

We're over our dining plan credits by one and I'm trying to figure out the best to pay OOP. I'm thinking it's going to be Via Napoli, especially if we can share a pizza between two people, or between three with an appetizer thrown in. I know on the menu it says serves 2-3 or 3-4 or whatever. But what does that really mean?

I've also heard about issues with splitting meals, but that's only with the dining plan, correct? If we pay OOP we can share, right?

Other places we're going are: Ohana, 50s Prime Time, Park Fare breakfast, Tusker House or Boatwrights (not sure which yet), The Wave, and Raglan Road. It seems that Via Napoli is the most "share-able" or best value for OOP.

What do you think?

I agree! Large pizza is easily shareable between 3 people. We also shared the fried chicken meal at 50's Prime Time last week and had enough to eat. Sanaa is my favorite restaurant for sharing!

So when I look at the menu, there's three pizza sizes--individual, large, and mezzo metro. When you are saying "large", is that really the middle size? So I could get what the menu calls a large and divide it among three of us, maybe with a salad to go along? I'm not a huge eater, husband does pretty well, DS12 eats like a bird--except when it comes to pizza. And I know DS14 will want something else entirely, so I'm not even counting him!

I feel like I'm at Starbucks here!!! What ever happened to just plain ole' small, medium, and large? :crazy2:

I was picturing the mezza when you said large. If you are not big eaters you should be fine with the medium and salad or appetizers.

My DH and I shared a large (middle) in October and had only one slice left. We also shared salad and bread before. I have a small to average appetite and DH is average. The pizza has a very thin crust and is just not as filling as other pizzas are.

The price of Park Fare breakfast would be more than sharing multple large meals at 50's or Via Napoli.
The large pizza will cover three people, 4 if light eaters.

4 of us shared the mezzo metro. The pizzas are big, but very thin, so it didn't go as far as we thought it would.

Me and my mom got the family style salad and shared an individual with prosciutto and broccoli rabe. We left full, but not overly stuffed where you can't move or breath. We're not super big eaters especially in the hot Florida weather, so it was perfect for us

They are this big (with a few pieces missing). It was hard but we managed to finish it. We love to eat at Disney:

Ok, now that pizza above looks much thicker than the mezzo metro. The mezzo metro was very thin

Via Napoli is one of the meals we are paying for OOP. The pizzas go further than you would think, and if you add a salad or appetizer, you will have plenty.

Screenshot_2015-04-30-05-21-22.jpg This is the individual size. It's Quattro Formaggi. My 6ft 17 year old easily finishes it himself.

4 of us girls shared a large (not mezzo metro) in March.. we did the salad ($7 a person.. not worth it IMO) and arrancini as an appetizer. We were full, but not over stuffed, and we finished everything. It was the perfect amount of food. I think it ended up being $20-ish per person including tip.

PS I am OBSESSED with the Carciofi pizza - if you like artichokes and white pizza, it is sooooooo good. We asked them to split the large half Carciofi half Margherita and they had no problem doing that.

Mezzo Metro or the Large Pizza on the Menu, it feeds 3-5 depending on appetites of course. I will have to remember to measure this pizza next time we go. I got this photo from a fellow Disney Foodie, thank you Carrie!

My family of four (me, DW, DD 14, DD7) had no problem finishing the mezzo metro. It looks deceiving because it is so thin. My girls are not huge eaters. We did not have apps, salads, or dessert. I also paid OOP and thought it was good value.
