How big are character autographs?

I found these great Paper Reflections albums that I wanted to use for our Character Autographs. They are really small--about 3 1/2 x 3 1/2-- so they will fit wonderfully in my kid's fanny packs. DD and I are planning to scrapbook 8 1/2 x 11 pages using the autograph and photos take with the character. (she will sb hers and I will do my younger dd's)

But now I am worried that they might not be big enough for the character's autograph, particularly the ones with gloved hands. Does anyone have any thoughts on this or recommendations for the minimum size the album should be?

or at the smallest 5x7. I went to Disney World Last month with two friends who have kids and we got many autographs for them and some were quite big. It is hard for teh big cartoon hands to sign I guess. What you could do if you want to use teh smaller book is have them sign bigger pieces of paper and tehn cut them down to fit teh smaller on if they can be!

the disney autographs books aren't as big as 5x7, but they are bigger than 3.5x3.5 I don't have one handy to measure.

What I did was use the normal Disney books, and then scan the autographs and print them out at a convenient size. I also used different coloured cardstock to print on. My dd loves looking at the album and doesn't seem to mind/notice/realise that they aren't the original autographs - of course, we still have the autograph book which she can look at as well.

The reason that I want to use these little books is solely because they will fit quite well in our fanny packs. The bigger books will not fit in our fanny packs and will be cumbersome to keep up with. BUT, if the characters signatures tend to be larger than the book, then we will have to figure out how to keep up with the bigger books.

I too am thinking those books sound cute, but might be too small. Some of the characters even "draw" in their signature and you would hate to miss a special message because they didn't have room.

I wouldn't just go by the size of their autograph either -
I think they need to be able to comfortable handle the album -
That is why they recommend the 'big pens' etc.

Don't forget that some character even 'stamp' their names! Buzz and Woody for example -

So your idea might work with some characters - but I don't know if I would chance it! I didn't ecen use our books for any scrapping at all - but my DD loves looking through it!

For comparison purposes the autograph books sold at the parks are 4 x 6 (plus a tiny fraction). I was looking at our last WDW trip book over the weekend and happened to note that most of the characters held them at the spine when the book was fully open when signing.

They are only a little over a 1/4 inch thick and fit well in a fanny pack. Even the smaller kid versions. I agree that I wouldn't want to carry the bigger ones. What I did is purchase the ones at the park (about $5 so not much more than a spiral scrapbook in a similar size) and then when I wanted some of the signatures in a scrapbook with the photos I scanned and copied on to card stock. This gave me what I wanted and also kept the autograph book intact for kids (ok and me - mine is ON MY DESK AT WORK! LOL!!!)
