How bad will Sept. crowds be?

I noticed that the Sept. roll call thread is 50+ pages. I just booked a Ding fare ($75 rt from NO to MCO) for mid Sept., and Pop for 3nights with free dining. Will the crowds be really bad, or just higher than normal for Sept. There was still plenty of choices for rooms and dining reservations when I called. Am I just worrying for nothing?

I think historically Sept is one of the best months to go crowd wise. The kids are all back to school, some people are scared of hurricanes, etc. I think you should be good! Have fun!

i think you are worrying for nothing. I had gone every sept for 5 years and it is a great time to go. No lines at all. Hurricane threats and school usually keep crowds low. It is hot and humid, but well worth it for the lack of crowds. We could always get into all restaurants everyday as well even without PS, or we could make them that day. I would be going in sept this year, but we went on our honeymoon in may,so we are now going to go back i may again next year. Who knows, i may plan a quick trip in sept anyways!! Enjoy!!

Sept is awesome! The Sept thread is for the whole month! We went in Sept last year & they hardly had Fast Pass machines on b/c there were no lines! We only had to make an advance PS for CRT & PSB, the rest of the stuff we got ressies while we were there.
We had to postpone for a day due to Hurricane Jeanne so that is always an issue but the weather (although very hot) was great with no rain at all. We will ALWAYS go in Sept!!!!

It's very difficult to ascertain from this board what the crowd levels will be like. It's a Disney Fan site...for the most part...it's all we talk about. There's also page after page of people who are going in early December. September and December are among the lowest crowds times of the year. The reason for that is because kids are in school all over this nation. I think that free dining will affect the crowd levels a bit until Labor Day, as for September....I wouldn't worry at all...

How much are they in WDW? I'm debating to try & get one at wa;mart before we go, but if they're not that much more $$ at WDW, I'll just get one there. (I love my WDW theming). What size batteries do they take?

TIA!

Well I don't know what the crowds will be like, but I'm going 9/11 - 9/16 and I just called today to make a dinner reservation at Le Cellier and they were booked, ugh! So I hope that doesn't tell us anything.

The fans are I believe $24.95 (if I remember, my daughter HAD to have one last year), they take AA batteries.

I don't know if Disney is doing this or not - but I think that they may have a limited number of tables for the free dining plan in any given restaurant. I'm staying at the Swan so I'm not eligible for free dining - and I have had no trouble getting PS's - agents always ask if I'm on the plan or not. Just an idea...

I am going the week of Sept 24 - Oct 1 and I had the same luck as Tinkerbell's Mom trying to get an ADR at Le Cellier. I did not tell the CM I was on the free dining plan. I just figured I am there the week that the Food and Wine Festival begins and that is why I can't get the ressie. I haven't given up hope though. :earboy2:

I think that the reason there is such a big response on the boards is because we all know about the free dinning. :goodvibes Not everyone really does their homework or even knows they should.

I think for all of us who are going in September we will be fine. I have kept a tally of everyone who has added thier dates to the trip and there are 348 disers who have put dates up. Look at the Ocotber list there are a lot more folks traveling then. I think free dining did encourage some people to add a trip, but I think we will all enjoy less crowded parks.

We are going September 23-28, and did an ADR for Le Cellier. The only res prob I had was at MGM...I just had to be flexible at our eating times because I wanted to do both Sci-Fi and 50's PTC. And I just booked last week. I really am hoping for low crowds. DH doesn't do well with crowds. Last time we went it was right after New Years and MK was packed! But the time before that is was mid January and we walked onto every ride. That's what I like!
