How bad is the water?

everyone from out of state can’t take the flavor

It's anecdotal but Im from out of state and my family and I have zero issues with tap water.

The question is kinda hard to answer..it's like asking how bad are beets. Some people won't be able to stand the water, others will like it and others will drink it and not have strong feelings either way.

Im with you in drinking almost exclusively water..if it's not alcoholic or coffee, it's water. I may have had 2 soft drinks in the last year. My guess is that if you're used to drinking alot of tap water, you'll be fine.

I'm from PA, and I don't have a problem with it either. Occasionally I might mix it with Crystal light, but usually straight from the fountain is fine with me. Don't understand the whole "can only drink it if it's bottled" craze.

Disney water is DISGUSTING, not sure you can even call it water. this is coming from a Texas tap water drinker.

Was there last week and didn't try drinking tap. However, the water from the shower was absolutely gross. Took three showers at home to restore my hair to normal. I used my same products there but the build up/residue from the water was crazy. Based on that, I would absolutely avoid tap. It's easy to bring a filtered bottle or get filtered or bottled water on property instead. Honesty, I might do that for my hair in future visits. ;)

Disclaimer: this is my personal experience, and I have very fine hair.

I tried the Brita portable water bottle on one trip but it wasn't enough filtration for me. The water one gets at most of the QS and TS locations is definitely filtered and is usually okay. But I still order bottled water with my grocery delivery. I like having it in my bag and also I, ahem, use it to brush my teeth at the resort. Yeah, the water tastes that bad.

As almost everyone has said, it's pretty rough. There's a definite sulfur taste and smell to it and I've found that it can occasionally affect the taste of soda because of the ice cubes. Whenever I'm on the dining plan a significant number of my snack credits go towards bottles of water.

If anything these responses are making me feel less sensitive, lol. I'm from the NYC area and the tap water here is pretty great so I always assumed I was just being picky!

I drink the tap water at night when I sleep. it has a definite taste to it. I can stomach it and it doesn't make me sick, but it's not the most pleasant drinking water.

Just how bad is the water in Florida? We live in California and drink water straight from the tap. I’ve never had a problem with tap water in hotels, etc. I hate the idea of wasting all that plastic by buying plastic bottles. We are exclusively water drinkers, so crystal light won’t work. Anyone stick to tap? How bad it is?
If you are used to California tap water, I think you will be fine. I lived in Los Angeles for 10 years and always thought the water there had an odd chemical taste -- much more so than Florida.

I've never had an issue with the water. I'm from the Midwest and Orlando water just tastes like water to me, maybe we have bad water here... I always refill a bottle in the sink at the hotel every morning and refill at water fountains during the day. The friend I usually go with is the same way. And when I went with my family in March, they were fine with it too.

Disney obviously filters all their water; proof is the toilet water, the lack of bad smell and the tap water is tolerable.

If you get water in a restaurant (free cups of ice water in quick service) then you will be fine. Must be highly filtered.

If you like water on you, take your water container and just pour the quick serve water into it to carry easier.

If you use the water fountains, there will likely be some taste if you are a picky water drinker (I am) and it is never cold.

Brita water filters do work well BUT if you use fountains still will not be cold if you like it that way.

I can drink from the fountains for small swigs but if I'm really thirsty I buy a bottle cold.

The water spoiler is sulfur.

If you buy a case of bottled water off-site, do not buy the Zephyr (hills? springs? cannot remember exact name) brand. This is botled locally, and tastes jsut like the local tap water. I made that mistake last time!

I think the water in Epcot mostly tastes fine. MK water is generally bad, with some places worse than others. The water at The Plaza is horrible; I think they want you to buy the soda.

The water isn't very cold anyways. If you want water then just go up to a quick service location and get a cup of water there. It's free, filtered, and comes with ice.

Yes this is what I recommend. You can skip the line at the quick service restaurants and go directly to the pick-up area. Ask for water there, they often have pre- filled cups of ice water ready for pickup.

I also bring a refillable water bottle and pour my ice water from the cup to the bottle. Easier to carry around in a bottle, and you can put your bottle in a backpack. Just make sure your refillable bottle has a "wide mouth" for easy pouring from the. Up to the bottle.

And I echo the others who say the water from the drinking fountains (and the taps in your resort room) tastes icky. I'd either buy bottled water to keep in your room or bring a water "flavor enhancer" (like Crystal Light or Mio) for your in-room water.

The water does have a weird taste, as other posters have said. I've just learned to embrace it as part of the Disney trip, that you can't get anywhere else!

I would bring bottled water for the hotel, but when at the parks, you can get free water anywhere at the counter serves and it is filtered. We have great well water at home, so can't take chlorinated water, and we have no issues with the CS water. We, too, only drink straight water, can't take the overly sweet water additives.

I would 'not' drink water from the water fountains - have seen some 'very' unsanitary things going on there!!

i've found that filtering at disneyworld is really hit or miss. I can't drink the water from my resort room tap, but the water at california grill was great. i can't drink the water out of the faucet at captain cook's at the poly, but the water I got from the homecoming restaurant was fine.

so...good luck? LOL

It’s filtered for drinking by Disney.

Many people think it’s fine. I think it’s vile. But then I think most CA water is vile. I liked it from the tap at my friends place in rocklin, but their water is a separate system than others. Anaheim water in particular is so gross. And a lot like Orlando’s IMO.

But again, many people think it’s fine.

And FYI waters like dasani and Aquafina are just filtered municipal water. Just like what you can get at Disney. So if you’re going bottled, get actual spring water like Zephyr Hills.

LOL. Yes, Zephryhills ‘local Florida” water. My neighbor works for Rainsoft and does water rest and says Zephyrhills is the worst when doing comparison test. I guess it’s all the Florida sand.
