Is it really that bad as I have read here?. Looking at the room mapsit looks like several rooms would have the view. Does anyone have a picture of the famous view from the room that they could post or email it to me?

We took our turn with the dreaded dumpster view on a recent stay at VWL. It really isn't that bad. I had to do a double-take to make sure that it was the famed dumpster as it is quite well enclosed. Given the choice I'd request a lake side view (even if you can't see the lake) as that would put you on the opposite side of the building from the dumpster and the view toward the bus stop. Requests are never a guarantee and the way I look at it even a dumpster view beats a view of snow blowing horizontal past my frozen window.... :cold:

ITA! Too much cold and snow here in the Midwest this December ;)

I think we had it once, and weren't aware that it was the dreaded DV. If you look one way you see the dumpster, if you look the other you don't...

By now the foliage would be higher and it should be less obvious.

We were only there for a couple of nights so it was no biggie. And it's always better than the view I have at the moment (my office !!)

We found it to be quite nice actually, quiet and undisturbed. I wouldn't care if we got it again.

Hey Bullpup12564, Where did you find that map? I have been looking for one.

I think it would only effective rooms 2556 - 2560 - 2562. If might also effect 2552. (change the first 2 to the proper floor 3-5).

It probably won't effective the first floor - because of the shrubs and plants that WDW is so good at.

We had the dumpster view this last May, and while it certainly was not the best view I have had, it really wasn't that bad. I am not hoping we get it again, but if I do, it would be ok.

The funny thing is, after we checked in and were in our room for about 30 minutes, the lady at the front desk who checked us in called our room. She was VERY nice and said if we needed anything to let them know and for us to enjoy our stay. We have never had that happen before. Perhaps she was just so happy she unloaded the dumpster room and we were not rushing back down to chew her out to be moved LOL.

kathy remember where it is - because believe me VWL will try and give it to you again.

they have tried to give it to me 3 more times. 'No thank you - what else do you have....' is my answer. I even got told since I know it was a bad view why not take it.....yea right.

surprising they have some wonderful villas - even got a lake view once.

Actually we kind of didn't mind the dumpster view on the third floor we got because it was a dedicated studio on the end - more room.

The only room I would not want when used as a studio is 4533 - no balcony. 4533 is okay when attached to the one bedroom, but by itself used as a studio, no thanks. And it's on the lake side. That's the only DVC studio I know of in the whole system at WDW that doesn't have a patio or a balcony.

I had the opposite dedicated studio to 4562 (not sure what the number was) boy was it GREAT!!! The only thing wrong with it was the long walk to get there....rivaled anything Boardwalk has.

sorry - no way......

BWV is much, much, much longer it you get one near the parking lot.

believe me I have both!

VWL is around 2 minutes maybe 3 at most to the elevators.

BWV can easily be 15 minutes.

thanks Pat! i'm writing these numbers down so i can avoid that view.

Just returned from our trip. We were in room 5556 with the dumpster view. From up there it wasn't that bad. Sitting in a chair you can't even see it.
