How bad is the heat mid Sept?

Have been both mid-Sep and mid-Oct numerous times. The difference is significant. Mid-Sep is still in the heart of summer in Orlando. It is kind of amazing to witness the difference that starts to take place early Oct. The amount of rain daily (usually via thunderstorms) decreases significantly. The daily temperatures start to decrease providing some relief, but where you get very noticeable relief is in the evening and night as humidity and temps get lower during that time of day. In mid-Oct, you can walk around outside at 9:00 p.m. and feel pleasant. In Sep, you can be standing still outside at midnight and still sweat profusely.

There is also one significant risk you can face in mid-Sep that will not be there in mid-Oct: love bugs. They have not been too bad for a few years but one bad lovebug season is enough to cause many to swear off going during the two times of year they show up -- usually late April to early May (but somethimes later in May and even early June), and some time between late Aug and the third week of Sep. They are harmless insects, except that dead ones can destroy paint on cars, that come out those two times of year to mate and in bad years they fill the sky around you and it is like looking at black rain in front of you.

Dealing with long lines and crowds can be frustrating at Disney during the cooler months. Doing the same during the warmer/hotter/humid months are unbearable IMO. Not a vacation worth thousands of dollars.

DW and I enjoy Sept best at WDW. 1. Crowds are lower, 2. Points are the best value. 3. We enjoy the water parks more. 4. We usually spend the afternoons at the pool or in an air-conditioned location. 5. No kids to have to deal with. 6. We'll be back this Sept '16!!

We've traveled in Oct also, but the F&W crowd at EPCOT is really too much for us.
