How bad is the first week of August?

We have a chance to take a last minute trip the first week of August. We live in GA, so we're used to heat and humidity. Are the crowds really that bad?

We go often, so we're okay with riding just a handful of rides, but we really want our son to ride FOP now that he's finally tall enough, and maybe one of the Toy Story land rides. Will we be able to find FPs at this point in the game (7 weeks out)?

We are going the first week of August. I'm guessing it is just as crowded as the rest of the summer. I can go check and see if there are any fastpasses left for FOP. What day? Or any day the first week of August do you want me to check?

We've been there the first week of August and the place was busy but manageable.
If you don't expect to have the parks all to yourselves you'll likely do just fine.

Just checked and there are none available until August 8th there are a lot after 3:50. None in the morning. I know that is the 2nd week in August. When I did our FP's there were none on our first day we arrive July 29th but a bunch showed up a couple of days ago. July 29th still has 7:20 and 7:55.

Thanks for checking!! We would arrive on the 28th. It looks like we might be able to find something with some patience.

My family went the first week of August last year. It was no as crowded as I expected and we did okay in the weather. Just plan on seeing some shows during the heat of the day. We always take an afternoon break to go back to our room to refresh and it works! Have a magical time!

We were there that week as well last year and had the same experience. We did AM rope drop to beat the heat and took a pool break in the afternoons. Had a great week.

Same! We had a blast early in the parks and had lots of pool time to get through the steamy afternoons.

It's the best time to go.... because I'll be there that week!

I made FP reservations yesterday, the one I was most concerned about was FOP and I got one for 1:35pm so I'm happy.

We went last year and are going this year at that time. We hadnt been for 9 years and then we'd go in September back when it was slow time ( no exits). We planned FPS and never had more than 20 minute wait. Did RD, single rider line, extra magic hours and EMM.

I'll be there for a quick weekend trip around the time you arrive and I was amazed at the FP availability. My daughter is scared of FOP (rode it in december) so we didn't need a FP, but I was shocked to still see multiple for our third day. I was able to completely change two of our days this morning and keep all of our FP, which never happens! I'm going again on a solo trip August 12, also from GA, so I'm not worried about the heat as much but will be spending a lot of time at the resort in the afternoon.

Last year around that time was pretty slow which is why they lifted the block out on AP's

We went last year 8/1-8/4 and it was hot, but I thought it much more crowded (and hotter) when we went in early June a few years prior.

Me and my sister tend to go the first week of July, and while it's certainly busy, it's not unmanageable. I say go.

We'll be there July 29 to Aug 4. Can't wait, had no trouble getting FP's at our 60 day window. Except for arrival day which I decided to get my FP's for later in the day, we have all the others in the morning so we can park hop later after a break at our resort.

We will be there 7/30-8/6 and was able to get good fast passes and was still able to change one this afternoon for our first day.

Also lots of dining available.

We always go in August. It is hot and usually rains for a few minutes in the middle of the day, but if you arrive at rope drop and take a midday break it's not unbearable. We also usually plan an ADR for dinner so we have a guaranteed AC break in the evening.
