How bad is Mission: Space?

I'm kind of claustrophobic and don't like going fast and a total coaster chicken- Big Thunder Mountain Railroad made me cry . BUT, I enjoy simulator rides...well...except for Body Wars. My question is: How bad is Mission: Space? Does it leave everyone as a puddle of spent nerves at the end?

I won't go on Mission:Space, as I know what the outcome would be.

However, given that you are somewhat claustrophobic and didn't like Body Wars, it sounds like you probably will not do well with Mission:Space.

I did ride Mission:Space - ONCE - and I humbly suggested that you avoid it. Very tight quarters and you are inside a centrifuge spinning. If you have any doubts, do not do it. It will ruin your whole day.

I rode it once and that was enough for me.... I don't usually get sick on rides but, I felt a little woozy after this one. Also, you are in a tight space.

We rode it for the first time on Friday, It was not half as bad as reported. I am not good at spinning rides and hate Star Tours/Body Wars. This one had some motion but it was more like Rock and Roll Coaster. We loved it. You are placed in a Space Shuttle type seat each ride holds 4 and you are given jobs to hit the correct button as you are flying. You lift off and feel the G forces and then have a bumpy landing on Mars. I am so glad I did not chicken out.

Everybody is different. I ride Star Tours. Wouldn't say I love it. Sometimes it leaves me a bit nauseaus. On the other hand, I could ride Thunder Mountain all day.

My suggestion would be, if you're not afraid of the effect is will have on you, give it a try at the end of your day. I have read COUNTLESS posts saying how riding it early in the day was a mistake as they were sick the remainder of the day.

Me - I have no interest in it. I don't do well with simulators, and the teacups make me sick. There's no way I could see myself enjoying Mission:Space.

Even though I am VERY prone to motion sickness, I really wanted to ride this and disregarded the multiple warnings they have posted -bad idea. I have honestly never been that sick in my life from motion sickness and I have tried quite a few things. I struggled through an hour or two and finally did have a highlight- I threw-up in France!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good things come to those who wait!

Anyway, there is honestly no amount of money to get me back on MS!!

I have honestly never been that sick in my life from motion sickness and I have tried quite a few things. I struggled through an hour or two and finally did have a highlight- I threw-up in France!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Good things come to those who wait!

Anyway, there is honestly no amount of money to get me back on MS!!

As fun as it would be to throw up in France....I think I'm going to heed advice and pass this one up. DH and I walked by it last year- even went into the game place you exit into, but we chickened out.

Now come on - Don't say it like that. You're being too hard on yourself. Mission:Space is one ride noone should consider passing by as "chickening out". It's a smart move if you don't deal well with motion sickness. Nothing wrong with that. No ride is worth ruining an entire day of vacation over.

Didn't mean it to sound that way. I'm just used to people teasing me about "chickening out" from every coaster ever made.

My husband hated it and it made him feel sick, but then again he hates the tea cups. I LOVED IT I thought it was amazing how much it felt like you were blasting off into space - or how I imagine it would feel! I would definitely ride it again yet if you don't lke confined spaces then stay away, it is very cramped!

I generally don't get sick on rides. The ONLY ride that bothered me EVER (in any amusement park) is Body Wars (Not Star Tours, just Body wars). That being said, I loved Mission: Space. My SIL (who works at RFC in DD) went on with us, and told us before we rode that if you just keep looking forward, you will be fine (ie. don't look at the people you are with).

I love rides, i ride everything but this ride is no fun!
I tried it twice, the second time as i was getting in a girl who just rode it and got out, came back in to get a barf bag. I know why they have a bag for each person on the ride, they use them a lot. I guess if you never rode it you might as well try it once, just grab the bag if you need it.

You know, you may have something here....maybe it really wasn't the ride!! However, I did try to "yawn" in RED, WHITE, and BLUE!!!!

I found a video of it online, thanks to a link given to me by another disboard member on another thread. Just seeing the seating arrangement of the ride almost sent me into a panic attack! We'll probably stay away from this one.....

I am very prone to motion sickness (e.g., can't do the teacups or the carousel- spent a good part of our DCL cruise completely nauseated) BUT my kids loved this and begged me to try it. Strangley- I didn't get sick- I felt really weird for about an hour though. I know people who were done for the day after that ride- just sick as a dog all day.
