How bad is May ??

How bad is May crowdswise and weatherwise ?? I am currently planning a Feb 2007 trip to WDW with DS5(then) and DS3(then) but may have to postpone till May 2007 as sis-in-law & neice may join from India..We are talking about the 2nd week of May.

Hi Ash,

The second week of May is quite manageable, crowd-wise.

May doesn't really get too crowded until the end of the month, with Memorial Day weekend and the start of many schools letting out for the summer.

May is my absolute favorite month to go to Florida!!! The weather is beautiful...80s and sunny usually. No 4pm summer rainstorms. The crowds are pretty light also - not as light as in September, but you can definitely get around the parks without too much of a problem!! Epcot has the Flower and Garden festival in May and the whole park is in bloom. Don't forget Star Wars weekends at MGM, also in May!

We went the second week of May 2005. The weather was warm, upper 80s, so we swam almost every day. The crowds were low. We never waited more than 20 minutes for anything. I would recommend it.

We went last May 19-23 and had a wonderful time!! The weather was great and the longest we waited for anything was on saturday. I think we waited 30 minutes or so. The weather was hot but still nice and it didn't rain once!!

We are going back this May 7-12, and we are definately looking forward to it!! I've gone in April, May, June, and July and my favorite month is May.

May is the best time to go! We went May 1-10th and it was our best trip. The weather was warm, but not too humid. Both waterparks were open. The crowds were low. Now that our kids are older, we don't feel comfortable pulling them out of school for a week, so May trips are over for awhile.

We're heading down for our 4th trip to WDW in May. It's a great time to go as the others have stated. I really enjoy the flower show at Epcot.

We always go in May. The crowds are very manageable until the last week. However, be prepared--it can get VERY hot even though it is not yet summer.

Thanks for all the replies !! Now I will be at ease if we have to reschedule to May !!! Coming from Chicago everryday swim weather is always good as long as it does not become muggy like Chicago gets in August !!!

You're going to Florida and you don't want it to be muggy??? I'm going to Chicago on March 17th and I don't want the bars to be crowded.

No, in May it's not as bad as the height of the summer, but it's still going to be hot and humid. We went last year, May 8 - 14. Only Friday the 13th was crowded (go figure!), otherwise we were pleasantly surprised by the very manageable crowd levels.

We were there in May 2004 -- DH had a business conference in Orlando, so we weren't staying at WDW, but we visited MK and AK. We LOVED it! It was very warm (which I liked -- perfect pool weather!), but not unbearably hot, no rain, and the crowds were perfect -- enough people for it to feel festive and exciting, but as others have said, no long waits . . . We're planning a trip for 2007 and have purposely decided to return in May (the 5th-13th -- maybe we'll be there at the same time!) because our 2004 experience was so great!

We used to love October...until we went in May! We went in 04, from the 8th to the 15th. It was the best trip, weather wise and crowd wise, we've ever taken!

I'd go again in May in a heartbeat, if my oldest weren't starting middle school next year. No more school year trips for us
