How bad is June?

Thank you all so much for the heads up on grad nights. We had three days of DL/DCA planned and one of them is a grad night. Looking at breaking up the days over the trip now instead. I'm guessing weekends will be noticeably busier, especially in June, correct?

I wouldn't be too worried. We noticed Seniors popping up starting at lunchtime, but they weren't heavy crowds until we returned to DL at dinner and they didn't get rowdy until 10pm. (We did Indy at 10pm on a grad nite- great fun if you're a senior in high school, bad for the rest of us.) If you feel they are too much in DL hop over to DCA, that's where their party is that night after park closing so they aren't really there during the day. You'll be ok!

This was our experience as well, kids starting to show up at noon, slowly building as the day went on. Later in the evening we either did a show or hopped over to DCA, so we really had no issues. We made sure to do the bigger roller coaster/thrill type rides (the ones that appeal to the teens) early in the day. The rest of the rides didn't feel much more crowded later in the day.

Following along, have not been to Disneyland since 1998. Just made hotel reservations for June 21-26......I know all about planning a WDW vacation spent 10 days there last June, but need to figure out the Disneyland and California Adventure planning....lol,

June really isn't much different from any other month. The parks are always crowded these days. We're passholders and some summer days are actually less crowded than, say, spring break or Christmas times, because unless you have the more expensive passes without blackout days, there are fewer passholders filling up the parks. We went a couple of years ago in June. The crowds were not so much of a problem as the heat. Weekdays, of course, will be better than weekends.

We went for three days in early June in 2013. Had marvelous June Gloom on our first morning with things getting warm but not terribly hot the rest of the day. It was crowded but not ridiculously so. Over all I think I prefer Spring Break for the nicer weather.

We visited that week in 2013 and remember the gloom!

Does anyone know if crowds are noticeably worse on Father's Day? We're looking forward to our DL trip even more with all the 60th anniversary chatter. I know it will make the park more crowded overall, but we're excited!

We are WDW vets that have been going to DLR during the 4th of July week the last couple of years. Compared to WDW, we find the crowds very manageable. We stay at the DLH and take advantage of early entries. When we follow a typical WDW strategy, we end up doing/seeing every attraction multiple times with plenty of time left over. RSR is the exception. Plan for SB ride during EE, and then get a FP for later in the day. Try to go on the ride at night! Also, do proper planning for WOC, Fantasmic, and parades. However, you won't be too upset getting early spots, because you have done everything else you wanted to do. As far as the weather, it can be hot, but with no humidity! With the dry air, you will find that you energy is not drained as quick. Do wear sunscreen!!

One time and place to avoid is the area between the parks on the night of the July 4th

The lines aren't nearly as bad as what people expect them to be during the summer.

It isn't like New Years, that's for sure. Just be sure to take advantage of Fast Passes.
