How bad is Jersey Week?

My kids have a long weekend November 8 - 12, 2017 and we were thinking of going to Disney World. We've never been in November and we were hoping to catch MVMCP as well as cooler temperatures. I think our dates will coincide with Jersey Week. What will the crowds be like? Will it be super crowded or are the crowds manageable?

My friend went for JW and other than the airfare being horribly overpriced she showed me a pic of one of the rope drops and I personally am glad I wasn't there lol

We went for Jersey Week last year (2015) and we really enjoyed it. Didn't have MVMCP but MNSSHP. We loved the party! We live in VA where our break is shorter so we were only there for the first part of JW. The crowds were big but manageable. For example, we were there for RD and were about 50 people back and were the first family on Splash Mountain! With a plan we got everything done, but some lines were long - think 50 minutes for Splash at 2 p.m. I would also consider what other time of year you would go... we went when our kids had longer breaks in January, the crowds were lower but so many rides (including my families favorite Splash!) were down for refurb. My DH does not want to go in summer because of the heat/crowds. We went this year right before Christmas (dec. 16-21) and that was crowded but we had a plan, did everything on our list at least once (even though we lost a day and half for the throw up sickness) loved being there for the holiday events....

We prefer not to take our kids out of school, so we understand we might not get to go and take advantage of the lowest crowds - now after they leave the nest....

We were there during JW for 2016. It was the last week of F&W. On the night we arrived, Epcot was so busy, the parking lots were filled. By afternoon, Epcot got packed. MK was pretty full too, but manageable. DHS was not too bad. But, if I could avoid it in the future, I certainly will.

I was also there last year during Jersey Week. Crowds were moderate but what bugged me most was the onsite room rates were high compared with some other times of year. AP room discounts were few and far between and went very quickly. Epcot was also extra crowded due to Food & Wine.

It's like high of summer crowded that week. it's also a peak cost week as others have mentioned so it would be nicer on the wallet and crowd (a hair) to find another week if that is possible. the parties I think really shift peopel around too. MK is just always more crowded on non-party days. It's also a very informed crowd that just had the clocks shift so they arrive at the parks a little earlier.

pandora, more things coming in the future it's starting to have that effect of both peopel hoping for low crowds and people traveling elsewhere until more is opened. it'll be interesting to see how it shapes up this summer once opened.

We were there that week in 2016 and it was packed. The beginning of the week was not terrible. We arrived 11/6 and did MK Sunday, AK Monday, and HS Tuesday. It was crowded, but still manageable with waits on non fast pass rides of 45-60 minutes. Wednesday MK was more crowded especially by the castle and we could not get close enough for a castle show, but the rest of the park was fine. They were filming a holiday show by the castle that day.

Friday in Epcot, which was also Veterans Day was just crazy. We only got on our fast pass rides. You could barely walk through the world showcase. The lines were insane everywhere. Saturday in MK was just terrible. We could not get onto any other rides except for the ones we fast passed. The lines were just so long. The people mover had a 45 minute wait at one point and when we rode it the Sunday before, there was no wait. The MK even opened another walkway that brought you to tomorrowland without going through Main Street.

After being in MK and Epcot on Friday and Saturday, I was done wth crowds and ready to go home! Next time we go, we are going to avoid jersey week.

The one positive was we had the most amazing weather! 79-80 and just perfect for walking around. We never felt hot. 60's at night so we wore fleeces. Not one drop of the rain the entire week.

We found there to be moderate crowds all week. Friday the 11th we went to Universal and it was so busy! The 12th we we went to HS and it was manageable, and on the Sunday we did MVMCP and I thought it was acrtually pretty quiet. Found parade and firework spots pretty easy, most rides were walk on, character lines were long but I think that's the case at any party.

We've been the last 3 years during Jersey Week and I didn't think it was too bad. Rides weren't walk on, but we planned and had no problems with huge crowds. Last year was more crowded than the previous 2 years because Election Day and Veterans Day fell during the same week, so more people than usual had time off that week.

This year we can't go that week and are going the first week of October and I'm actually bummed. We like Nov better than Oct.

We are booked for November 4-12, 2017. We find Jersey Week a bit more crowded than usual but still very doable with proper planning. We usually go that week because my boyfriend has Veterans Day as a paid vacation day. Plane tickets prces are the worst thing about that week, imo.

The impact is more from Veterans Day and Election Day. Think about one state has three days off that week (and not all school district have Election Day off mine doesn't) and small percentage of those people go to Disney that week. Compared to Veterans Day which is a national holiday that many people from all over have off

I agree Veterans Day increased the crowds. Probably because it fell on a Friday and made for a three day weekend. The Friday and Saturday were the worst crowds that week.

I've been there in 2016 and 2013 that week and planning for 2017 during the same period. While it is busy, it is nowhere near busy as the holidays. That said, we usually tour with a group who knows where they're going, what they want to do, and is willing to get up early and do rope drop. In 2016, I did take first-timers that week and stayed offsite in a house (not my first choice, but that's the way it goes when you travel with others sometimes). Therefore, the ADRs and FP+ were harder to get for us and we didn't get 'Ohana, 7DMT or the Frozen ride in Epcot. Fortunately, they had no idea they missed anything at all! Going without a plan that week would be pretty miserable. Oh, and the last weekend of F&W is terribly busy, pick another park those days if you can.

Done it now 4 times, (as you can see in our previous visits) Last year(2106) was a little different from years past, but honestly maybe a lil more packed..But not crazy..I'd say 6or 7 out of a 10..:confused3

As others have stated prior, last year it coincided w/ Veterans day, & it was a presidential election, meaning most schools up here had that FULL day off from school as well...Throw in the 3 Marathons that weekend, and that's why there were virtually no rooms available TBH. Also that was the last weekend for F&W .

We found getting to and from the parks was actually a piece of cake too...We stayed in SSR/Grandstand. So we walked over to the carriage house for coffee every morning and never had to wait for a 2nd bus (due to full capacity) So that usually a good sign..Wait times at the parks we went to weren't ridiculous either.

Besides that, the weather is absolutely Perfect IMHO, and you do get the XMas decorations as well. F&W is an awesome thing, but Might I suggest don't attempt to visit it on that Friday or Saturday night....Actually Sunday either....I'd do it either the 8th or 9th..Wed. or Thurs.

There were several factors that increased the crowds last year during Jersey Week. The biggest reasons were, it being the last week of F&W, run weekend, and the taping of Christmas events.

We have gone several times during Jersey Week and last year seemed to be busier than the rest.

I know a few people that have gone and it seemed to fine except for last year. My friend went last year and she said it was packed. They were filming that show that aired on Thanksgiving and also Christmas Day so that may have been the reason.

Let's see, I was there twice 2016: August 22-30 and Nov. 9-12. It was definitely more crowded in November than the last week of August, but the weather is much more enjoyable in November. We had a lot more energy and were able to spend more time in the parks in November weather. The November week had Food and Wine, the MVMCP, Christmas decorations, filmings... it really was an awesome time to go.

We accidentally booked for Jersey Week once. We will never do it again.

Yep it's crowded New Jersey week.
New Jersey has a big population and the second highest household income in the USA. The first highest and fourth has around 9.5 million people combined. New Jersey has around 9 million. The number 3 state in income is very high populated but that is California. With the high population and income people probably just want to get out of the state for a little bit.
