How bad is it the week following Easter?

I know that it will be crowded - but just how bad is it? How are the crowds on Easter Sunday?

My family used to go over Easter (either the week before or after), and we always had a great time. The crowds were bigger, but that was all we knew then. ALso, the parks stay open for longer hours which is nice. I will say that at that time it does help to use the strategies from books such as Unofficial Guide at least as a vague guide. But I think that now that they have 4 parks and the length of stay passes it doesn't get ridiculously crowded. However, you could hit an unlucky day. Use fast passes, and have some plan, and you'll do fine. We never waited more than 30 min, but we also may have chosen not to wait in any longer lines and chose another ride. It's been a while, so you may want to hear from someone who's gone at that time of year more recently.

We go every Easter week and it is extremely crowded. This year was the worst. However, that is the only time we can go because of the school calendar. Just do a lot of planning.

The MK closed for a couple hours during the afternoon a couple days; the waterparks are filled to capacity by 11:00 am; fastpasses for a lot of rides are gone by early afternoon; at 11:00 am Test Track had a 120-minute standby line.

Stay away from MK on Easter Sunday. The other parks should be fine.

We always try and go early to the parks, leave by 1:00 for our rooms, and then return at dinner. The parks are always open quite late, and there are two showings of Fantasmic and the Spectro parade. (Always try for the second showing of anything.)

If you are serious about going, be sure to go early to the parks. Our family went the week after Easter for 3 days. At the expense of repeating myself. Never again.

We were there the week after Easter this year (stayed at WL) and we honestly didn't think it was that bad. We arrived Easter Sunday night and stayed 1 week. According to the CMs who we chatted with, the week before Easter is much worse re: crowds than the week after and I would certainly agree. MK had closed a few days durung the week before but no days while we were there. The weekend was crowded but I've seen worse. We will be going back again this year at the same time but I will say I'm a little more concerned about crowds because of the early timing of Easter this year and potential overlap with spring breaks. So we will plan our days accordingly...just in case!

We went just for the weekend of Easter this year, knowing it might be a zoo. We were very surprised to be able to do everything we wanted. Next year Easter falls earlier than a lot of East Coast spring breaks....who knows how that will affect crowds....but I do know that we will be there the entire week!
