How Bad is it in June?

This is what I'm thinking. We are going in June this year because we will be going with family and my niece is performing at Disney Springs. But our future trips will most likely be mid-end August. We are in eastern PA and I'm hoping that at the end of our summer, it won't be such a hard adjustment. We went in November 2015 and the temps were in the 90s and it was a bit of a shock to the system.

We've been in mid-January, late August, early December, early May and late June. June was the toughest adjustment to the weather for us. We've had really good luck with the weather on all the rest of our trips, even to the point of only getting one heavy rainstorm in the afternoon in August.

I'm trying to figure out when to take our next trip. I'm considering June, like right after my daughter gets out of school so mid-June.

How bad is it, both crowd wise and heat wise? I know it will be hot for sure, but we always take mid-day breaks to go swimming anyway.

Mid-June is hot and CRAZY HUMID. Like as soon as you walk out of your room to head to the bus, you start feeling wet. It is the kind of humidity that is almost more comfortable being in rather than taking a break in the shade and AC. As soon as you walk into the line queue in a building out of the sun, it is like somebody poured sweat on you.

My husband plays soccer in 85 - 100 degree weather in the summer (outdoor) and said that Disney in June was very uncomfortable and he always felt dirty. We didn't complain about the people who smelled like they do not bathe on vacation because we felt we smelled just like them. LOL

Drink lots and lots and lots of water. Be careful about getting dehydrated.

I would suggest getting to the park at rope drop, stay until about 1 and then head back to the resort until about 5 or 6 PM (based upon park hours) and then head back out to play.

It's like this the entire summer in FL, pretty much from May-Sept. Hot, humid, rainy, hurricane season (later in the summer) etc.

I agree about the smell, everyone is RIPE.

It's Florida in the summer, it's going to be hot. It's also a matter of tolerance or conditioning to heat. It's no different than someone asking what it's like in Duluth, MN in February. You just have to be properly prepared for it and use good judgment, but it's manageable.

On that note, if you can manage the heat, the afternoons are a great time to get on rides because so many people do what's been discussed here...go to their resort for a mid-day break. So you can get on rides quicker...just be sure to get on plenty of a/c rides. Or have a FP+ for something like Splash Mountain or Kali River Rapids.
