Bonjour all
We're going on Monday (3nts Cheyenne two full days) the forcast hasn't changed heavy rain and high winds everyday. You know what it's like- I've been planning and looking forward to this for so long I don't know if we'll manage to go again (getting DH to agree to the trip was a feat!) and now I'm worried the weather will ruin it- I can't imagine DS exploring Skull island etc in the rain-and isn't frontierland a problem in the rain?
Do they cancel parades if the weather is as forcast? If not where would be the driest place to watch them?
Do you have to book for indoor shows like Lion king and Animagique? Where do you do this? Is the Stunt show-Moteurs covered?
Please- what are your top tips to getting the most out of DLP in the rain?
Thankyou all so much

Hi there.

Here's a weather forcast that says your second day will have showers.

http://www.weather.com/outlook/travel/businesstraveler/tenday/FRXX0076?from=36hr_topnav_business

When I was in Paris/Disneyland, we had showers everyday. You can still see
the stunt show as you are covered. They had rain coats so there wasn't a
problem.

I don't know about the Lion King, but you don't need a ticket for Animagique. You stand in line as it would be another attraction.

Weather IS impossible to predict, unfortunately. I've booked for the be-
gining of September hoping the average weather would be right, but I could
very well have showers everyday, like last time.

The best advice I can give you is to try to make the most of the time you
have while you are there. I'm sure you'll find things to do. One bright side is
that there may be less people there, so you'll have a better chance to take
the attractions you'd like to do. Most of the attractions are covered, too.

Why not check and see if Buffalo Bill's show is available? I'm Sure your
DS would enjoy that.

Trust me....... no amount of rain will spoil your trip. There are loads of covered areas at DLP and if you buy yourself a raincoat, you won't even need to take cover. As a frequent visitor to WDW in Florida, I can promise you, you've never seen rain like it... but did it spoil our time in the parks? no way.

Of course a dry day would be better so I hope it's not too bad for you.

We've done 3 March trips, the first time we had a mixture of rain, sleet and snow and it was bitterly cold - we had a fabulous time and it didn't put me off booking March again twice, 2nd time - it was beautiful, the sun shone every day although it was cold and last year again overcast with some rain, not quite as cold though.

My best advice is take plenty of layers and if you have them light waterproof coats or you can join the rest of the crowds and invest in a bright yellow poncho. Take hats, scarves and gloves and spares in case they get wet, the same with shoes take a spare set, avoid trainers which soak up the water and jeans that drag on the floor. Thermal vests are a good idea too.

Remember that you can cover a lot of ground at DLRP undercover, it was built with Parisien weather (not too dis-similar to ours in the UK) in mind.

I have never seen the parades cancelled although the first year I felt very sorry for Tinkerbell, in her flimsy outfit at the start of Fantillusion. :cold:

I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time :thumbsup2

Incidently I was watching one of my DLRP DVD's last night, when my son walked in and said "They must've filmed this when it was warm, they haven't got coats on  " - I don't think he realises that they have seasonal changes there too, makes me think that I should plan a Summer trip.:)

Unlike the other parks Disneyland Paris will still keep parades running if the weather turns wet. But you may end up with an alternative version of that parade, minus parade stop. It will only be in extreme conditions that the parades will be canceled altogether. Even during Cadlebration the show goes on, but changes may be made. All other shows to my knowledge are in door's so this shouldn't cause to much of a problem. Some of the smaller attractions may have to close like the teacups and Dumbo, but everything else should remain open.

As others have stated you'll still have a wonderful time, even if it rains.
Gives you plenty of reason to join the masses with a Disney poncho :goodvibes :thumbsup2

i always wondered about those ponchos, how much are they? otherwise might just buy a couple macs beforehand

Thankyou all for your suggestions and it's such a relief to know the show goes on! Will certainly take clothing advice on board- I'm sure we'll all look lovely in yellow! I'll have to write a trippee when we get back to let you know how it went!

I never look at the weather forecast because they always get it wrong for UK especially... We've had rainy days in June, July and December but it didn't spoil the fun!

You'll have a great time regardless of the weather.

We are off tomorrow. :cool1: :cool1:
I bought poncho's from Poundland this week to take with us. Got DD pink disney princess and DS yellow pirates of the carribean, also eldest DD wanted a yellow tinkerbell one. So just us adults to get one and we will be fine. Packed all my warm clothes. You never know with the weather. We went prepared this time last year for the same kind of weather and had to buy factor 50 suncream for the kids. Hoping it will be the same this year.

When we went in January the weather was awful it chucked it down most of the time we was there but seriously dont worry it didnt ruin our trip and im positive it wont ruin yours.

Have a great time :)

I must check our Poundland - DS(8) would love a POTC poncho!

when i went in august it rained everyday. In some ways this is better as it means that the park is quieter and the queues are shorter so you can get round more. don't worry about the rain you'll only get wet when you're walking between attractions as most queues are under cover.

Was pretty bad eh? It didn't spoil our time either!:thumbsup2 Water proof shoes/boots though are an idea or you will freeze all day!;)

when we went in December we had torrential rain, and they did cancel the parades (prob because everyone had taken cover, so there was no-one watching)

Watching them from mainstreet, outside the shops is prob a good idea, as you can then dive for cover indoors, if it gets bad. we tended to head for the arcades behind mainstreet, as there was more room to fit everyone in (espec if you have a pushchair)

i think we had the most freak weather while we were there, ive never known rain like it, and we got soaked to the bones - thankfully though the disney hotels tend to have the heating turned up high, so our clothes/shoes had dried out by the morning.

Most rides stay open when it rains, just expect to get a wet bum from the seats

also if its raining people tend to head for the indoor shows, so the queues for the rides get alot smaller - so sometimes its worth just grinning and bearing it through the showers

Just be prepared that if you do get wet, kids can get a bit grumpier, espec if its getting cold/dark, and you may find you wont be spending as long in the park as you had anticipated, as you want to get back to the hotel and warm up

Skala,

How was your weather? We leave this week, and all I see is "showers" for wach day of our trip!
Also, how were the crowds? Can you give us an idea of wait times and queues?

Thanks!
