How bad are the crowds the last week in July?

Are the crowds about the same all summer or do they pick up in July? How bad is it the last week in July?

Pretty bad. Plus you got the Brazillian tour groups to deal with. That's like peak summer... expect crowds.

I know people have been talking about them getting more prevalent the last couple of weeks, to the point where it's really noticeable now.

Maybe I will think of another month to go. It is hard when you have to work around school and sports.

Usually mid to late July I believe.

I hear ya'......or you can just go when you CAN, plan around it the best you can, maximize your time/FP's/etc., and "pack your patience".

The usually start school about 2 weeks before labor day so that rules out when the big discounts come out. We could go towards the middle of August, that is what we did last year and it was pretty crowded.

ran into my first set of chanters and can't say it was brazil but it was loud and not english.. oh and the groups are so large it's like 3 separate tour groups with 50ish+ in each group chanting..

We used to go all the time in late July. We haven't gone then once 2014 but it wasn't terrible crowd wise then. Sure you have Brazilian tour groups but you can avoid them, I have never had an encounter with them other than walking around the parks for a very short amount of time. I would say your biggest problem in late July is heat. Summer crowds have been down a little bit this year as well. I think late July is a good time to go. If you want you can read my late July trip report from 2014 in my signature to get an idea of crowds but you should be okay if you plan right.

Thanks ! Nice trip report I havent gotten to read all of it yet but I will come back and finish reading it. We did go in June this year with temps around 98 so yeah it is hot in the summer. We have to deal with it if we want to go .

The heat doesn't bother me much anyways however during the parade that year it was 97 with humidity making it feel like. 105 and we were sitting in the sun watching the parade just dripping in sweat.

I know it can be horrible if you have to sit in the sun.
