How available are ressies for this Oct thru Dec?

I'm hoping to go on a DVC trip this fall, using rented points, but don't know exactly when I'll be able to go. I'm wondering how likely it is that I'll be able to get a ressie. Has anyone tried lately to make reservations on points at the WDW DVC resorts for between the middle of October '03 and late December (before Christmas)? I'm not interested in going during Thanksgiving and I'm assuming that Grand Villas and BWV standard view rooms are already impossible.

I'm most interested in OKW, but info on any of the DVC resorts on-property at WDW is appreciated. I suspect there are other people on this board wondering the same thing, so information here may save them a lot of frustration and wasted time! Thanks in advance.

You may be able to get something at OKW if you are not picky about the dates at all. Even then you may have to go on a waitlist. The fall and early December are very popular with DVC members. October, November, and the first few weeks of December are usually pretty booked because of lower points, the Food and Wine Festival, and Christmas decorations. But you never know until you try.

I know that October and Thanksgiving to year-end are busy for DVC. I am not sure about early November. The sooner you call the better your chances.

I don't know if you are willing to go in September, but we just reservations at the beach club for labor day weekend.

Early November was sold out last time I checked (several weeks ago). Was trying to switch a ressie I already had, and decided I'd better leave well enough alone. Rent/Trade board also seems pretty busy with folks that can't find rooms. But, as they say, you never know until you try. But I'd get a non- DVC backup just in case.

Last week, there was availability at BWV prefferred view for the week of Dec 13-20. Not sure of the status now.

I just booked 2 studios at OKW from September 27 to October 4. MS said that all rooms were going very quickly.

Last week I tried to make a reservation for the nights of 11/22 - 11/26 (studio at VWL). When I called, only Saturday 11/22 was available, so I confirmed that night and went on the waitlist for the others. I got my confirmation letter yesterday and all nights except 11/26 were confirmed. This being my first reservation and, therefore, first experience with the waitlist, I must say I'm quite happy.

So...do the waitlist for whatever you want, wait a couple of weeks, and see what happens.
