How are you notified if a wait list comes through?

Stupid question but how are you notified if a wait list reservation gets made?

You would see the new reservation on-line and you should receive a confirmation via e-mail.

I had a wait list come through for October and the only way I knew it came through was the wait list in my vacation center online went from a active wait list to a confirmed wait list. No email for me. YMMV.

For some reason I don't get the waitlist e-mail confirmations anymore. I just happen to notice it online. I even double checked and the waitlists I have made said they will notify you by e-mail. Oh well, no harm, no foul since I'm obsessive about checking myself.

You were lucky then. I had a waitlist come through. They were supposed to change only one day, which they did, but they canceled the remainder of our trip I never received an email, but noticed it when I checked my vacation plan; luckily it was the following day. I was able to get the days back that I wanted.

I remember reading your post when that happened. I would not have been happy AT ALL if that happened to me!!!

I first noticed our waitlist came through when I logged onto the website. The next day I received a confirmation email. A day or two after that I received a second email indicating that they had merged my existing and new reservations into one continuous reservation (I was just adding a couple of days).

Please note that the email is a "confirmation of your reservation" email and it doesn't specifically say that your wait list request was granted. But that is precisely why you are getting a new reservation even though it's not explicitly stated. If you check your wait list request page on dvcmember.com you will see that it has been moved from pending to fulfilled. I suspect whether or not you receive an email might have something to do with your settings on how you wish dvcmember.com to communicate with you, but I'm not exactly sure.

I don't think it's a settings issue because I get emails every time I set up a reservation at dvcmember.com. But I just never got one for the new reservation when the wait list came through.

We got a phone call this time because we had to borrow points for the waitlist and I guess they won't do that without authorization.

Thanks Guys I actually found the section about the wait list procedure the other day on the member website. I appreciate the responses. Actually became a non issue as when My family found out we were going: I went from burning banked points to having to rent 20 from disnesy to get everbodies reservations. I had planned on wait listing BLT but since the chances of getting one wait list must less all 4 reservations moved we just kept what we had at BWV. Its still my favorite at christmas anyway.
