Going a little crazy with the packing list here. We leave in about a week, and I'm trying to pack up myself and my 2 little girls. (DH is on his own! ;) ) I'm thinking mostly lightweight capris with s/s tees or s/s knit play dresses (Hanna's) and hoodies that we can remove when it gets warmer. Lots of Gymboree Cherry Pie! Sneakers and socks. No sandals, as they get irritating after too much walking. Long pants and light fleece jackets for evening. Should I bother packing shorts?

How does this sound?

It's currently 73 degrees and overcast. My family is all dressed in shorts today. Granted, this weather is a little warmer than usual for this time of year, but I think what you're planning on packing is probably going to work for you. You honestly may want to pack at least one versatile pair of shorts per person. On the other hand, make sure you have plenty of layers for everyone. We survive the ever-changing temperatures here by layering!

I agree with pp. What you have packed should work out fine. We have been in shorts and tees all week too so you may want to pack a pair for everyone :). and ofcourse it is overcast and gloomy today maybe 73+

Yep, a little chilly today but yesterday was low 80's and sunny and hot at Seaworld! We were in shorts and though I saw people coming in after dark with jackets and hats, I was still hot when we left and it was 80 at 8 p.m.

Those zip off pants work great for kids and they are fun too!:)
My boys love 'em They were them from Mich on the plane when we travel in the winter and they are ready for Fl when they step off the plane!;)
What ever you pack have a great trip!:thumbsup2

I am stressed about packing too. We are going for 4 night at the end of January. Two years ago, we went at the same time and it was freezing. The mornings were SO cold We only had one warm day and that was a high of 61. I started to think about packing and I did not even consider shorts. I will have to check the forecast closer to the date. I was thinking layers though. Short sleeve shirts, and sweatshirts with pants. Hopefully we wont need the winter coats again. Good luck with your packing !!

Ros4, I was there in Jan two years ago too! It was so cold! We had to buy a coat for DD my DH and I were walking around in hats and gloves! We are leaving for a two week trip tomorrow and I am packing mostly pants and a few pairs of shorts. I am hoping it will not be that bad this time around!

Just watch the weather. It was only 63 near me today, but we are expecting 80 this weekend, last I checked!

When we go at the end of Jan. this time, I am seriously thinking about renting a locker at the parks that we plan on being at from early morning to later on at night...The last time in Jan. we went, it was shorts and t's weather during the day, but frigid at night. This way, with the locker, we can put sweatshirts and a lightweight pair of nylon sweats to throw over if it gets that cold again.

Yesterday was jeans and a sweat shirt weather, today was shorts and t-shirt weather.
