How are you booking in hopes of FD

Is everyone booking the dates that were offered FD last year or do you think the dates this year (if offered) could be completely different. We're going to be ready to book in a few weeks and I sure am hoping for a pincode before then, but if it doesn't come I want to get the trip booked, I'd also like to buy my airfare in June. So right now i'm looking at early December. I would like the first week but more dates were offered FD (in 2010) between the 10-21. Should I book a week starting the 10th??? I'm so stressed out over this. Is everyone going by last years dates or are you just picking a week and hoping for the best knowing that nothing is gauranteed of course?

Thanks for advice/opinions

As far as December goes I would say it is likely if FD is offered that the dates maybe similar to last years dates, blocking out the first week due to POP Warner and of course Christmass to New Years week.
Since you can always change your dates later when and if FD or other discounts come out for December and depending on availablity you may need to change dates and/or resort if your is not available for the discount/FD.

While we're hoping for FD to be offered again for Sept, but I'm not banking on it and we're going then regardless. I did get a pin that got me 35% off CBR for my dates and we booked to make sure that we had a decent discount of some sort. FD will save me more if it's offered though.

Good luck! I hope you get a discount of some sort for your dates!

The only drawback to booking ahead of time in hopes of free dining is that the more rooms booked, the less likely Disney will see a need to offer the discount.

If you are going regardless, then booking to ensure you get the room and resort your want is okay. But, to book ahead of time in hopes that you can simply apply free dining to the reservation if it comes out could prove counter productive if enough people do it.

Just something to think about.

This is exactly why I haven't booked anything. I totally agree.

Very good point, this is why we are holding out (at least for the time being). There is still lots of time before our vacation (October), hopefully we will get a % discount or FD soon, so that we can book.

Good point.

We're booked for the end of August with the room-only code that expired at the end of last month, and we'll go if that's the best we get. Free dining would be about $200 extra savings so we're hoping it comes, but if not 30% off isn't anything to complain about.

I personally wouldn't book a rack rate ressie if I was counting on a discount to be able to travel, because I do think those bookings reduce Disney's incentives to release a good offer. I book just-in-case ADRs but not rooms. :rotfl:
