Just had a family friend come back from a Disney cruise that stopped at Lighthouse Point who uses a wheelchair. They advised that they waited 30 minutes to get a golf cart ride from the shop to the island in 50 minutes to do the reverse to get back on the ship.

Can anyone who have utilized the disability golf carts discuss their experiences with how it worked for them, how long they had to wait, Etc my family will have to use this when we go on our upcoming Cruise so just wanted to see if these wait times were the dorm are excessive?

Thanks in advance for the help!

You need to go to guest services the day before and they will tell you where to meet.
Yes it can be up to an hour, even longer depending on the number of people.
They won’t take your whole family, only the person/people that need a ride for mobility reasons; everyone else has to walk

Like most things Disney, the wait depends on when you show up. The wait when they first start will often be the lowest (15 minutes for us), but the line only gets longer so if you wait even 30 minutes or an hour to show up, the waits can be an hour long. As everyone is storming the gate to get off the boat, they are restrictive as Mags noted..... on the return trip they tend to be less restrictive because it's more spread out in terms of when people want to leave.
