We will be traveling with my 13 month old DD and our 6 year old DD
Can you please tell me how the parks (MK, AK, EP,DS) strollers are?
ARe they comfortable?
Do they recline?
Can i store my backpack somewhere in there?
How much for single and double?
And if you have any pictures or strollers to share please post for me?

I am contemplating whether or not to take our own Pooh stroller.

What do you suggest?

18 more days :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

take your own umbrella stroller...a cheap one that you wouldn't mind if it were lost or stolen. Even if you have to buy one, it will be cheaper than renting a disney one.

Your 6 year old should be fine without needing a stroller.

We just returned from a week at Disney. I think we paid $80 for 5 days of double stroller rental (our kids are 9, 7, and 4). They do not recline but my kids never complained and had room for storage. Even my 9 year old sat in it (actually all 3 kids fit into it!) I felt sorry for the people lugging strollers onto the buses - definately rent one! It is worth the money!

We are just back and we definately rented a double stroller for our days in the park...I have a DD6 and DS3. I am not sure I would want one of the DIsney strollers though for a 13 month old child?? I am sure a lot of people will disagree with me, but the Disney strollers are convenient and I am very glad I had one...but they aren't made for comfort!! They are hard plastic, do not recline and I did put my backpack in it, but only when there wasn't a child in it...which was probably a little more often for me because my kids are a little bit older. Hardly any room to put stuff in the carriage...only a small pocket in the back. If you are thinking of the 13 month old napping ?? not sure that would happen!! I am sure I can find a pic if you haven't seen one yet!
Again...just my opinion!
Hope you have a great trip!!!!!!!!!

I have done it both ways. When DD was was 20 months and DS just 4 yo we took our own cheap walmart umbrella strollers and did ok. Our only problem is we are both tall and the umbrella strollers are definately made for shorter people. We bought the stroller connectors but they were worthless. Bottom line ok for convienence but uncomfortable for mom and dad. Last trip in May we did a multiday double stroller rental. It worked out well for us. The ones in Epcot and MK have a strong enough canopy that our backpack sat up there. Also they are extremely easy to push...way easier than our strollers. The MGM doubles are the jogging type, more comfy for the kids...but the canopy would collapse if we put the backpack on it. We liked being able to leave the strollers in the parks and just get on various transportation. For your situation it would really depend on how your little one does in a stroller. The MK/Epcot/AK strollers are low to the ground and easy to get out of. If you have an escape artist you may want to consider your own stroller. If you decide to rent the strollers go with the multiday rental. Gets you a 10% discount and no lines. Have a great time.

Hi,
Our stroller broke one day as we were entering the park
so we rented this one. Check out this pic.
My seven year old enjoyed being able to ride some but the
three year old could not take a good nap in it. We will still
bring our own next time. Good luck

I find renting strollers a pretty big waste of money unless you are flying in.

I bought a rather compact stroller for 30 bucks at Toys R Us. It has a big basket under the stroller but it folds up rather compact. So, I'd rather do that than end up paying for a stroller rental for 9 days.

We have rented one in the past though. The kids didn't complain but they sure don't look comfortable!

When we went in June 2004 my kids were 6 & 8. We didn't plan on needing a stroller but soon found that the heat and all the walking soon took it's toll. We ended up renting a dble stroller several times. Hubby was against it but the kids could keep up and it gave us a place to put our stuff.

Now, we are going again in April 2006. The kids will be 9 (turns 10 that week) and 7 (8 in May). I am thinking I need another stroller for most of the same reasons listed above. Are they too old? They are small children (each no more than 50-60lbs soaking wet.) Is it really anyones business? I just think that if they aren't worn out we can see/do more and have a place to put the backpacks etc.

Any thoughts or ideas from the veterans out there? They are deffinately too old to buy one here and take with us. This is the only time they would use it. They do ride in the carts at WalMart etc...

Thanks for you helps/tips and opinions in advance.

:teeth: of course it isn't anyone's business but when did that stop anyone from commenting :rotfl:

sooo imo they are kind of old. my kids were 6 & 8 our first trip and would not have been caught dead in a "baby stroller' but they were used to walking( we hiked a lot ect). i probably might help them get in condition by walking some more pretrip and cut down on the stuff you take if it were me but that is only my family who likes to go without a bunch of junk in tow.
