For those of you who have actually been to Ohana since the menu change, how are the new dishes? The bread, vegetables, pasta, and dumplings? Has anything else changed?

I can tell you when I get back, eating there this Sunday night...we are first timers so we cannot compare it to before the menu change.

i can't bring myself to go back there, now that the shrimp potstickers are gone... :sad1:

I've had all the new stuff except for the pasta (missed it by a few weeks) and it was all SO good. Would go back in second!

Also, is the bread similar to the one served at Kona?

We were there a couple of weeks ago. Everything was great. WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT!! The skewered spicy shrimp was very juicy and good. The noodles were very tasty, but I love dishes like that. And to my surprise the potstickers were great!

I for one am glad they removed those chips and dip things, they were awful and salty. I didn't mind the potatoes, but I'm fine that they had to remove them. I'm also glad they removed the sausage, the look of them made me gag...but I never did like sausages.

We are going back again in our next vacation in a few months and I booked it for two nights.

It sounds like you and I have similar tastes. I am looking foward to trying the pasta dish, which sounds like something I'll like, and fits in better with the Polynesian theme then the potatoes did, though I love them too.

I'm also anxious to try the dumplings. I must've always had bad luck with the wonton chips, when ever I got them, there always seemed to be some that were bunched together and only half-cooked, or stale. And I'd pick shrimp over sausage any day.

Are the sticky wings gone? What about the bread pudding?

I believe the sticky wings are still there; not sure about the bread pudding! I've read that they're doing away with it and bringing back the pineapple and caramel dip.

I was there on 3/21 and we had bread, salad, sticky wings, wontons, noodles, vegetables, meats, and bread pudding. i HAVE eaten there before the changes but I actually prefer the new items! the veggies were DELISH and so were the noodles. I am a vegetarian and i didn't even have to bother asking for a different menu because I could make a meal out of the noodles! there wasn't much pineapple or nuts in there, so don't worry about that. the bread was awesome and the salad was the same as i remember. the bread pudding was better than i remember! (but i was sick the last time i ate there so my taste buds were probably off or something!!) my family were first timers and they LOVED the meal. (they aren't vegetarians) ALSO, our server told us that the noodles replaces the potatoes in order to make the menu more polynesian.

We have eaten there every trip and the chips are always like that, it's the only thing that isn't finished by the time the meat came around.

Definitely, the Shrimp was great! Although, I have never eaten the sausage so I don't know if it's good. But the thought of sausage alone makes me sick. I'm glad my family doesn't them also, I don't think I can stand to smell it.

Off topic, we always make sure at Whispering Canyon, that they don't give us sausage in the skillet.

I am so glad to hear such a positive review! Were the noodles very sweet?

Not *too* sweet. They were honestly just right! My favorite item on the menu now for sure!
Thanks! This is the first time that I've thought that I might like them. Before they didn't sound good at all. I was thinking they would be really sweet and full of pineapple. Now, I can't wait to try them. Just 74 days to go.... :yay:
