This question is for anyone who's been to MK in the past week or so.....I was curious if the lines are long..if so, all day or just at certain times. We're trying to figure out strategy for the park next week and we were wondering if POTC should be a first thing in the morning ride or not.

Thanks for any info.

We did morning and the wait was suppose to be 20 but it was about 10 cause of the lines move fast.

We just got back a few days ago and they lines were longer than I have ever seen them. Usually you don't have much of a wait in line - but this time we waited about 45-55 minutes - we rode about 10:00am.

I figure the lines are longer because of the popularity of the movie and all.

I would suggest going to POTC as early as possible after opening to avoid the longer lines.

I was there 3 weeks ago and the wait was about 50-55 minutes.

I was there on 7/10/06 around 8PM. The posted wait time was 30 mins and I was boarding my boat after 27 mins. I returned to MK on 7/12 and kicked myself for waiting in such a long line for POTC 2 days before. I was able to ride mid-morning or so with less than a 10 minute wait. During my visit I did see wait times of up to 50 minutes, but in my experience there was no need to wait in that type of line.

Now that I realize how lame Space Mountain is, I would not have a problem starting first thing in the morning at AdventureLand for POTC and Jungle Cruise. Use my FP for Splash/BTM then work my way through FantasyLand (after HM, of course) and hit Buzz with a FP on my way out.

It was under 30 minutes when I went on yesterday (Saturday). They advertised 40 minutes, but we timed it, and it was just under 30.

whenever i've gone in the summer, the line is always long. when i go in the winter it's shorter. but this was before the second movie was out.

Thanks for all your info. My hubby and I were wondering if it was a first thing in the morning stop for now or not. Usually we would do this ride in the middle of the afternoon without much wait. We figured it would be much busier now though. I think we're going to go there first then do SM and BTMRR.

Those long waits just seem so strange because for the last couple of yrs its been little to no wait! It must be because of the movie.. Atleast the line area is cool (temp wise). Im hoping the line in late Aug wont be so bad..

we were able to go through twice in 45 minutes during their soft opening on July 1 :thumbsup2 which we thought was excellent. They have more boats and keep them going quickly. Try going during the parades at MK either afternoon or evening or the evening Fireworks. You can get on Haunted Mansion, POTC, and Splash Mountain (with FP) during those times with little trouble :woohoo: .

We just got back yesterday from a week in DW. We went on POC (my daughter called it Pirates of the Kenobi) around 7PM and it was about a 1/2 hour wait. The line moved but it was long. It was worth it to see the Johnny Depp changes. It was fresh and new!

do they have fast passes for this ride??
No ..no FP for POTC.
We were there the week of July 15th. The lines were lined all the way out. Although the line does move fairly quickly I would suggest grabbing a FP for another ride and then heading over to POTC.

We waited 50 mins last Friday to ride. They had the queqe line snaking back and forth in front of the entrance, then two lines inside. Lots of people were there.

Anytime we see this, we just walk on by!

Last week of August last year, we'd get right into the que and only have to wait a very few minutes at the loading area.

We were there last Monday and in the afternoon (around 2:30 or so) when we went to get on it the line was 2 HOURS. Luckily, we had gotten a "front of the line" pass on our way into the MK that morning because our tickets weren't working, well mine did but dh's and the kids' didn't, and it took them forever to make us new tickets because there were computer problems. The CM's felt bad about making us wait so long to go in and gave us the pass. Ofcourse, we used it on POTC. :thumbsup2

I'd definetly hit that ride in the morning for the time being.

We just got back last week, and the lines were not THAT bad. During the middle of the day, the queue was about 40-50 minutes long. However, later at night, such as during the extra evening hours, there was no wait at all.

What we thought to be funny was, here on the DIS, there is the theory to always go left when you are given the choice because more people go to the right. However, if the wait time (for POTC) says 10 minutes and you have a choice, pick the RIGHT SIDE. We did this three times and walked right on, and looked at the other side and it had about a 10 minute wait.

Thanks for the tip, I will remind my family to go right.. Now watch EVERYONE will go right..lol

I've always wondered about that - Right or Left. We always pick Left because of more people going to the Right - but all in all - which is the better choice? Are they both the same exact distance (Measurement wise)?
