Anyone just back? We're leaving Thursday morning :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2:  :cheer2: and although I'm prepared for mobs of people I was keeping my fingers crossed that the crowds will have thinned out a little since the July 4th holiday is over.

Any info?

We got back on June 26...all I can say is that my dd, amost 12, and I decided at almost the exact same time on June 24, that we wouldn't be going to WDW in the summer again!!! Huge crowds and the heat was really something. Now, understand that we have gone twice in mid-August...once with a hurricane. I would go at that time again before I went in June or July once the schools are all out. Just too many people for me....too much shoving and rudeness. Heat takes a lot out of you and when you've been in the parks for several hours and people start getting cranky...well, just not doing it again!!

We returned on July 5th. I dont think I have ever seen crowds like we saw on this trip.
Peter Pan was an average of 90 minute wait. Soarin was 120 minute wait usually. Fast passes were gone by 2 or earlier.
RR and TOT was a long wait also. The crowds are very heavy and while everyone seemed to be on there best behavior, there were always a few who thought nothing of just crowding in front of people. Your at Disney!! Be patient and enjoy your trip!! :flower:

What is the temp like in June? I have no choice with high school kids and going for 12 days to go from June 10-22. How miserable is the heat?

We were there July 4-10 and we were expecting the worst, but pleasently surprised. On the 4th of July, we walked on Dinosaur, Kali, Safari, and Tough to be a Bug and saw they parade. We walked the trails and did this in a 3 hour time frame.

Our experience at other parks was pretty similar. You have go early and then go back and stay late. On Saturday evening (9-11), there wait for Space, Splash, Buzz and Big Thunder was a long as it took you to walk through. We went back and forth walking on Big Thunder and Splash. We rode each 3 times.

We have been there in Feb, April, October, and the crowds last week were pretty comparable. We talked to a cast member and they said the crowds weren't what they were expecting.

We would do it again if not for the heat.

I am right there with you kadanty. I was expecting the worst in terms of crowd levels and I too was pleasantly surprised!!! We did late EMH at every park and had NO problems with wait times. What you experienced on Sat. at the MK, we experienced Friday night (7/8). We walked on Big Thunder and Splash as well. I kept saying to my family that I couldn't believe how easy it was to accomplish everything we wanted to on this trip.

Although it was HOT & HUMID, we stayed at the pool ALL day and then did the emh late nights to avoid the heat from the sun in the parks. Friday night we stayed at the MK until 1:30 am and it was awesome!!!!

The ONLY ride I did not get to go on during the entire trip was Soarin, that wait time was 2 hrs and all fastpasses were gone. Oh well, that is just one more reason to go back soon...

We are going down there on Friday and staying at OKW. We will be there for a baseball tourney at WWoS. I looked up at how many teams would be there. In our division (15&u)there are 26, in 10 &u there are 80 teams!!!  So be prepared for large crowds.....The tournament starts 7/15-7/22. I'm just preparing myself to do the new rides I haven't been on and take it easy. I know we'll go back soon enough. My favorite time of the year is Oct. But with DS now in high school and plays travel hockey, we will not be going anytime soon in Oct. :confused3

Thanks for all the replies! We've been in July before and really had no problems with the crowds but I thought this year might be different because of the Happiest Celebration and tourism in general being up. I've promised DH we won't get up early every day so we may swim and try to hit evening EMH some.

sooooo, will all of these kids sleep in late?? :teeth:

Hi!

Just got back Thursday, July 7th . Even though we loved our time at Disney I haven't seen so many people in one place. This might be the last time we go in July....We are planning our next trip this December!

We were there June 25-July 4 for a girls basketball tourney at WWoS. There were 85 teams in the tourney, plus an archery tournament, soccer tournament and softball and they were setting up for ESPN's outdoor games. I will say that WWoS facilities are awesome. Depending on what park you were in, you had to deal with crowds. EPCOT wasn't bad and my kids walked on Mission to Space without using a fast pass and had a 5 minute wait so they got off and did it again. Soarin though was another story and the fast passes to Fast Track ran out at noon. There weren't any crowd problems at AK, just got fast passes for everything we wanted to ride, MGM the same. MK was the most crowded with very long lines for the major rides. Also, lots of rain, every day. We usually go in June anyway, but this was the most rain we've ever had, we had to put our shoes in the dryer a couple of times. Since our kids are getting older and we've been there a lot we developed a new travel plan, sleep in and stay late.

We also just got back July 4th - 9th. The crowds and heat almost did us in. It was our first trip to WDW, we enjoyed it, but hubby and I agree if we do this again we will go down in the fall and take the kids out of school. We just had a hard time coping with the heat. We did get to ride Soarin and Test Track twice, which was great!!!!

There was lots of Brazil students there and they were pretty noisy in Tower of Terror and Splash Mountain. I just wish I had their energy! lol

I am hoping we get to go back. We didn't allow enough time and missed a lot of things. MGM we only spent 1/2 day there due to heat and tireness. You do learn a lot and hopefully next time we know what we are doing better.

We did find out get there early and you walk onto rides with a little of 10 min. wait times!

I just got back from a trip 7/2 through 7/9 and I was pleasantly surprised at the crowd level. I was expecting the worst but it really wasn't that bad. It rained maybe 30 minutes total (spread out over three days) the entire time I was there and the skies were sunny and bright! Of course, we were at the parks EVERY DAY 1/2 hour before they opened and then commando walked to the first attraction. I had UG touring plans in hand, Times Guide, and maps and we walked on every ride we wanted to go on. We even rode some more than once and took advantage of Fastpass as the day wore on. We left the parks each day between 1:00 pm and 3:00 pm for a swim at the ASMu resort before returing in the evening for dinner and/or fireworks. The kids kept up and we all had a wonderful time.
