How are the crowds today?

Just wondering how the crowds are today since the AP's are blocked? They will be blocked next Saturday too. Just seeing what difference that made and if next Saturday would be one of the better days to go next week. ;)

Looking at my Lines App CarsLand seems to be almost as bad as yesterday. The other attractions seem to be lower than what I've experienced lately during the week, but that may be because so many guests are in the 5+ hour RSR queue.

DL seems a lot slower than what is typical during the week when kids are out of school (Splash 40 min, ST 35 min).

I'm one of those AP's that is blocked out on Saturday, so never go then, but last Saturday I went for a CarsLand preview day on a Saturday and felt it was slower than what I have experienced over the last month during the week. However I know many of those weekday days were busier because of Grad night attendance :sad2: .

We have a two day park hopper and we will be going on Wednesday which isn't a Grad Night so, hopefully that will be okay. I was going to make my second day Monday the 25th but some people have said that day could be one of the worst days of the year. Just trying to figure out if I should make my second day Friday the 22nd (Grad Night) or Saturday the 24th. We went last year and there were two Grand Nights when we were there, it didn't seem to really make a difference. With the Cars Land opening I just don't know what to do?:confused3

The park was awesome today, the only really long line at dl is matterhorn. In regards to dca only terrible lines were the Carsland rides. Overall a great day to end our week long trip.

i think you have the day mixed up...the 2 worst days are supposed to be tomorrow and the 24th..not the 25th....this year grad nights will make a difference as now they can go all day and they have parkhoppers....so i would stick to my original plan and go the 25th over the day before...but if i had to choose i would say grin and bare the grad nite vs hitting it on the 24th..the 17th and 24th they expect to have so many people that the cms are having to give up their parking lots and park at the angel stadium and be bussed over ....

So, what do you think of next Saturday the 23rd versus Friday the 22nd or Monday the 25th. Which do you think would be the better day to go?

Glad you had a good time! I wonder if next Saturday will be the same way?

well me personally i think all three days will be bad...however, the 22nd and the 25th are going to be equally the same...the thing you have going is sat. is a so cal blockout day which may help a bit...so i would say probably 23rd...thats just me tho

We went today.. the only rides that had crazy long lines were the Cars Land rides. We got on everything else with ease..

I think that we will go with Saturday the 23rd. Hopefully it will be like yesterday, Touringplans.com said that yesterday was 3.6 out of 10 at DL and 7.6 out of 10 at DCA. They had predicted much higher numbers originally. They predict next Saturday to be a 9.1 out of 10 at DL and 9.8 out of 10 at DCA. If the AP's holders are blocked for that day why do they predict such high crowd levels? According to them, next Saturday looks like one of the worst days of the week but, a lot of people on this board seem to feel that it should be one of the better days. We will have to wait and see. Does Touringplans.com take into consideration the AP blockouts?

I was there yesterday. Like others said, lines were really long for CL rides, but everywhere else was really normal. Even the CL rides weren't completely outrageous. Around 9:00 RSR was 3 hours (would have been shorter if it didn't start off broken down), Luigi's was 90 min and Maters was 40 min.

Then we hopped and waited a whopping 15 min for Indy AND Space. Never saw a Star Tours line longer than 30 min even in the early afternoon. Even Peter Pan only had a 25-30 min line most of the day. :thumbsup2

One good thing I have noticed is with the cars rides.... according to a line app on my hubbys phone, all the other rides are not very long waits :) I can't wait to go in a few weeks, though I will be bummed if I can't ride RSR BUT I am not gonna wait 5 hours LOL

first of all I would throw touringplans down the toilet:lmao:...whats really funny is that I used them for wdw and they were pretty accurate in almost everything...but for DL they are usually off their rocker...maybe its different people who do wdw than DL??? i think the reason we are saying that sat. will be better is due to the days you are planning to attend...we know the 24th is going to be the worst...and we know friday is going to have AP holders so between the 3 days sat. is the better...not that in general the parks are going to be non crowded...i would thinkTP would take AP blockout dates into consideration but I really dont know for sure...they may just be going by the fact that its a saturday=weekend=alot more people are there...also, if CL wasnt opening then this time of year would still be ok to go ...usually it starts picking up close to 4th of july until after labor day and since everything is so new, everyone is trying to do CL which makes the other rides and all of DL pretty much open for you so thats a great thing.... but i still stand by what i said that I think sat. is going to be your best bet:goodvibes

We currently plan ending our stay on the 24th, spending some morning and early after noon hours in the park. Just curious as to why so many people are predicting the 24th to be a day to avoid.

because the 24th will be the last weekend day that so cal AP holders will be able to go to the park before their summer blockout dates begin (they will only have between the 24th and the 28th to go) and since they are local, chances are they are working during the week... they expect over 100,000 people to attend... the cm's are having to give up their employee parking lots to guests and park over at angel stadium, the garden walk, or honda center and be bussed over to the parks...
