How are the crowds right now?

We were there Monday also, and I know better than to go to MK on a Monday. We had done alot of the "must dos" the day before so we went to Fronteirland at 9:00 and covered that area which was empty. BUT by 12:00 the people were pouring in Main Street and we ran out to escape the crowds. :teleport:

Having the barricades up in front of the Castle and the 2 rides closed in Fantasyland did make it seem more crowded. We were there the same time last year and the crowds were light. The Super Bowl did bring in people who may have gone at another time. (us included)

On a brighter note, we went to MGM at 4:00 and had dinner, after that the park was empty! Everyone was heading to Fantasmic and we walked on ToT, Muppets, Star Tours and Movie Ride. But we remembered to leave before Fantasmic was over at 7:25 to beat the crowd out.

Who cares about crowds when you have weather like this? :sunny:
I couldn't be any more fired up.

I'd be willing to bet a lot of the crowds were people extending their vacation after going to the Superbowl. Jacksonville isn't that far from WDW and if I was there you'd bet I'd drive to Orlando and spend a few days at the World!

Well, we were there Jan 20-29th. I thought it was more crowded during this trip than it was the last week in August. We were able to FastPass a lot and with careful planning we did have a great day at the MK. BUT - it was sooo crowded. No PS for dinner, long wait lines, and the stream of people leaving on a Thursday was what I've experienced on a Sat. night.

MY DH kept saying that that was the last trip for a while because he hates crowds and it was too much for him.

Universal was less crowdwd - but we passed on many rides due to the wait times.

I am slowly coming to the realization that WDW is getting more and more crowded with each trip we take. We usually visit a few times each year in the "Off-season" (September, beginning of Dec and January) because of the ease of touring. No more.

We might still go once a year, but we will be branching out.

The problem I saw this trip was that they weren't opening up the FP kiosks until after the crowds started getting heavy. The only FP I saw open was Peter Pan on Saturday morning and then TOT had been open but was closed by the time we arrived at MGM at 5PM.

we were at disney last week too and it was crazy.friday was fine we did 3 parks in one day.no lines.mgm,a.k.some of epcot.sat.was busy, sunday was sorta bad and monday was down right crazy at m.k.could not even walk down mainstreet.missed the spectro parade(my fav.)because there was no where to sit or even stand.it was a mad house.there was superbowl fans, mardi gras escapees and dance teams everywhere.i heard the week before we came was wonderful.just my luck. :confused3 :sad2:

That would REALLY annoy me. If they have fast pass machines, they should have them going unless lines are walk on and maybe even then, why not, they have them. Disney can't control things like increased attendence (its their job to keep it up, actually) but they can do things like keep fastpass machines open and hire plenty of people to check bags and man the enterance so customers do not have to wait in line to get in the park. I'm still concerned about backups in processing people now that MYW tickets include bioscan.

i WAS going to go to disnsey... but i didnt want to see all of those people... i do not like large crowds... so tomorrow, my friends and i are going to universal to see the go go's as well... universal has less of a crowd than disney at this time... it is good for people who know the universal parks well((like me)) ^_______^
