How are payments handled w/ overseas rent direct from owner?

I think there was a thread about this a while ago but I don't know what to search for. When you rent from someone in Great Britain are there exchange rate issues, or typically if your quoted in dollars that will be exactly what you pay?

For those who have already done this... Did you pay by credit card or paypal? I've emailed to ask the owner whose home I'm interested in how he normally handles payments, but I also wanted to check in here as well.

You pay whatever you're quoted in, for us North Americans it's usually US$. (no exchange rate issues) The times that I've rented from a UK owner I've paid their management company using Pay Pal or my credit card faxed or phoned in.

Each owner has their own way of doing things but if you have been quoted in US$ then the exchange rate won't come in to it at all. The owners will have most if not all of their expenses in US$ so there shouldn't be a problem.

You may find that they accept credit cards either via PayPal or via their own US management company. Alternatively they may accept a check which they can then lodge to their US bank account. I'm sure the owner will get back to you shortly with all the answers.

Dont be surprised if they charge extra for paying by credit card, We had to pay and extra 4% but I wanted to insurance of paying credit card in case there was a problem.
They also had an option of paying by check.

You can pay by CC if they take it -check to their man co or a direct deposit into their US bank -most owners have one.
