How are new beds at OKW?

I've got a week stay in a studio booked for October, and I'm worried about beds. Seems like the beds at OKW used to be pretty comfy, but last time I stayed there (Aug. 06 I think) they were not.

I'm reading that the beds are being replaced. Some posters have said "comfortable" and some have said "FIRM". I assume they are not putting in the nice pillowtops like every other DVC resort has/is getting. I don't want to go sleepless for a week.

Any recent experience with the new beds? Should I ask for a rehabbed unit, or just try to move to SSR?

Just returned from a week at OKW and I am telling you that bed was as hard as a rock. I slept okay, but each night when I climbed in, it was a bit of a shock!

I love OKW dearly but do think these beds are not the greatest. The bed I had at SSR in October was so much more comfortable. But again, I did get a good night's sleep all seven nights. Heck, its WDW so I am generally dead tired and could sleep on a stone slab. Which is sort of what that bed felt like!

We stayed in a 2-Bedroom unit a couple of weeks ago at OKW and I had no problem sleeping on the matress in our king size bed. The pillows were great too. I believe they were feather pillows.

A year ago last April (08) I had rock-hard beds. It seriously was like sleeping on the floor. Each day I woke up with a terrible back ache and stiffness. I didn't know I could ask for something at the front desk to put on my bed and make it softer.

HOWEVER, this past May (09) the beds were firm but VERY comfortable. They were not rock-hard at all. I'm hoping that my 09 experience was with the "new" beds.

We like them - there now in 55. At home, we are "sleep select" 90s so the bed is just right for both of us and we are both pretty exhausted after 10 days days of running around.
