How are gasoline prices in your neck of the woods.

Buffalo and San Francisco have the highest gas prices in the country. No one knows why. Ours are $2.55 right now.

Way upstate NY--just south of Canadian border--still $2.59 to $2.67!!!! Can't wait to get down as low as most other posters!! :-)

My Costco is at $1.65 in Richmond, VA. I have a ton of fuel points at Kroger where gas is $1.71. I should be under $1 for my next three fill ups!

I live in Raleigh, NC. The cheapest gas here is $2.06 at Costco, but most other places are $2.15.

Gas is $1.54 a gallon at Costco in Albuquerque. Even though we are one of the lowest places for gas prices in the country, the state's biggest industry is oil and gas. Therefore, there will be MUCH less money for the state this year for things like education, a state hospital level 1 trauma center, and for capital outlay projects, just to name a few. College and community college tuitions are destined to have substantial increases to make up some of the difference for higher education.

I'm enjoying the low prices and hope it boosts spending in other areas because people have more money in their pockets, but from a family of two teachers, a college freshman, and a kid in high school, we will suffer financially much more than the savings we are getting at the pump.

my area is back up to $2.19 this weekend~not complaining but these overnight jumps of 30-40 cents are keeping me on my toes for filling up!:crazy2:

Isn't the tax on gasoline a fixed $ per gallon and not a %?
Here it's fixed so unless people stop buying gas (use fewer gallons) the state's cut is the same.

Jumped from $1.69 to $1.94 Thursday, then to $1.84 by Saturday. Diesel has been $2.39 at one place & $2.59 everywhere else for a couple weeks.

Down to $1.89 here. (NE Alabama)
If you're okay with off-brand gas (which I'm not, it brings down my mpg), it's $1.88.

Burlington Vermont 2.52

Wish someone from our State would investigate our prices. Every time Senator Sanders says he will investigate prices, Gas prices drop within hours even before an investigation takes place.

It's $1.85 here, but with my fuelperks from the grocery store, I only had to pay $0.019. Yes that is 1.9 pennies per gallon. I put 16.5 gallons of premium in my car for a mere 31 cents!!

Just $1.99/gallon this afternoon at the 7-Eleven off Apopka Vineland / 535 near the entrance to Downtown Disney! ::MickeyMo

The price drop at my Sams has slowed. it is now $1.579.

A lower $ per barrel purchased pressure profit margins in oil producing states. Lower prices = lower margin based on fixed costs, capacity, limits to variable flex, etc... This affects workers by less hours which equals less wages. It affects the company the same way; less revenue = less profits. Both of these affect tax income to the state. Each $1 decrease in the price of oil per barrel translates to a $7.5 million change in state revenues, nearly a fifth of which come from oil, gas and mining.
