How and when to waitlist at non home?

What is the strategy for making a waitlist at non home resort? When am I allowed to do that. Currently booked at my home resort for 11 month window but want to make my waitlist ASAP that I’m allowed for a non home resort to get switched if it becomes available. I thought I read 9 months but I’ve seen 7 elsewhere? TIA!

You cannot book or waitlist a non home resort until 7 months.

As mentioned, not until 7 months. If you go to put one in online and some of the days show up, you simply click the start and end date you want again on the calendar and it will give you the option to complete the waitlist.

It also follows the same 7 day booking rule when starting exactly at 7 months. If you want more than that, you would need to wait a few days into the window to put that request in.
