Hi everyone,
My husband and I are bring our almost 3 year old b/g twins to Disney in September(the first time we are going as a family!!!!!). We are staying at the Contemporary for 5d/4nights. We are staying outside Disney at the Holiday Sunspree for 5d/4nights as well, which is only going to cost us $49(have to go see a timeshare). I know this might insane, but I'm thinking of cancelling the Sunspree (since now I'm reading that the hotel is not nice) and staying an extra 3-4 nights at the Contemporary (which will cost a lot more). I just don't know how I am going to cope with going from staying inside Disney on the monorail and then going to a Holiday Inn after that. Will I be able to handle the drastic change???? I'm getting so obsessed with Disney that anything else just doesn't feel right. What do you think? Linda

After reading some of the reviews I also would be very leary about staying there. If you can afford it I'd stay on site. If the contemporary is too much Maybe stay somewhere else for those few days...or even flip your vacation stay at a value or a moderate first then spend the last few nights at the contemporary...

Can you do the Sun Spree first? I totally agree. It would be hard to go from a monorail resort to off-property.

I know what you mean. We were late making reservations, so Disney didnt have many openenings for when we needed them. So I made reservations at the POP for May 21 - 26. But for the last two nights (which is memorial weekened) we have to move to a Hampton Inn. I keep calling Disney and seeing if they have had any cancellations.

I say either go to Sunspree first or stay at a moderate or value... :wizard:

Have you considered staying at a Value for those nights? We stayed at the ASSports and my DS loved all the huge icons. It seems like with the free dining, you might want to stay at Disney the entire time. BTW, we LOVED staying at the Contemporary. The monorail was great!

All the advise about staying at the other hotel first is valid. It is very difficult to go from a deluxe to anything else (unless it is DVC). Good luck.

I would see If I could afford to I'd stay maybe at POP or one of the other value resorts and then move up to the Contemporary. I have b/g twins too but the first time we took them they were almost 5 so it was a little easier I'm betting.
We are staying 2 nights at the Nickelodeon Kids Suites by Holiday Inn. they have all kinds of character rooms like Rugrats, Dora, Sponge Bob and Blues Clues. The hotel is about a mile away from DW. I realize it's NOT Disney but just remember where you are going AFTER! We all KNOW Disney is the best! my 13 year old son talked us into this because he's been wanting to go since 2004. You should check them out if you have any interest at all in them...maybe you could get a deal? you can go online and check out NICKHOTEL.COM GOOD LUCK!

Can you still get free dining for the last days if doing Disney package? If so it seems like a budget, or even a moderate would not cost you much more then the other option unless you are planning on cooking meals. We have stayed at all levels of Disney property, and really liked them all, have went from deluxe to moderate, and deluxe to budget(two rooms at budget) and did not suffer.
Have fun,
Donna

We re doing the same thing. We are staying our first two nights at the Nick Hotel. DS (10) has been begging to stay there. We will check in on Friday night & he can spend the entire day there Saturday. Then we will move to the Poly on Sunday.
