How accurate is the reservation thread?

Just wondering...I keep looking at my dates till I'm in the system to see if what I want is available..

it's so-so.
Dates get entered when diser's find there's nothing available on a given date.
But this doesn't account for any reservations that get cancelled. You really simply have to call MS when you're able & willing to book to see.

I would ignore the availability info -- all it will do is make you nuts.

There are few things in life as fluid as DVC availability. I could call and find nothing and before I hang up you could call and find something. What someone else found or did not find is irrelevant, as is calling just to "check" availability.

The only thing that matters is what you find when you call to book a reservation.

Its useful for looking at patterns of availability over time...."does it really seem like standard view at the BW books eleven months out over F&W" (answer according to what is reported - sometimes those rooms are gone that quickly for scattered dates).

Its nearly useless to answer an individual question due to fluidity and incomplete information.

I agree w/ pp. It's more of "what isn't available" as opposed to what is. But that is only a snapshot and can change literally hourly.

Agree with all pp as well. As Crisi said I think it can be used to see patterns, but isn't really accurate given the all the changes on a daily basis.

When calling about a change for one reservation, I checked "availibility" for a second reservation as my 7 month window was just a couple of days later. At that point there was nothing, when I called on the morning of my 7th month, I lucked out and there was availability. It changes constantly.
