How accurate has DISTRIPPLANNER been for you?

We are going for 10 nights with 2 adults, 1 Disney adult and 1 child. The site has me around $1750ish.

For anyone that's used this how accurate has it been?

I plugged in all of our likely choices and came up with $923 for our trip. The calculator put us at $934. So pretty close, I'd say. (Tihs is two adults, 10 days, 9 nights.) I have a separate budget for alcohol.

It uses a snack price of $3.93. Depending on what snack you choose, given the recent (and still occurring) changes, that could be doubled. I also find, that it estimates too high for a child's meal for the oop price. Looking at the menus, I couldn't price out anything to come out to the price it was suggesting. Perhaps, the low figure of the snack and the higher price of the meals evens out? I was getting $19.25 (picking the highest price meals) and it was showing $24.02. $5 may be an insignificant amount but with multiple children over multiple days, it could really skew your decision on whether to go with the dining plan or pay oop.

We can't get the DDP since we have the magical deal. I'm trying to get an idea of how much we will spend OOP. I've been putting money on Disney Giftcards and will be using that when we are there.

Thank you for your feedback. Great info.

We'll be doing the same. On our last trip, we brought $1200 down with us in gift cards and came home with almost $400. I'd like to get as accurate as I can this time as we won't be back for a very long while.

Thank you! I didn't even know DISTRIPPLANNER existed until your post! This is very useful to me as we are going in about 2 weeks and paying out of pocket for meals. I did a manual calculation of our food costs but this is so much easier and pretty spot on for what I came up with! I hope it works out well for you.

I'm planning on taking 2K in GC's, charging to the room and paying down the room charges every other night or so.

For 10 nights we will go over 2K including food and souveniors, I think. So I have cash as backup. I also don't want to come home with a lot of money on my gift cards because we don't plan on going for a while either.

I have been using this and I think it is overestimating at many locations for us. I am taking a look at the actual menus online and there are places like Trattoria Al Forno at the Boardwalk that it is estimating $137 for DH and I to eat at. When I actually look at the menu, even with purchasing a kids meal for my 2.5 year old I am calculating that it will only cost us around $80 with tip---and that is with one appetizer. I also noticed that the Buffets for places like Chef Mickey's is charging me what I think are the highest possible costs---even though I have asked around and when we are going in-off season it should cost me probably $20 less. I was debating on getting the Disney Dining Plan, but I think we are going to pay OOP.

I "think" it includes the tip. It had us about $20+ on Chef Mickey's also. At the end it has the whole breakdown of entree, appetizer, drinks, desserts, tip, taxes.

I know ours is a bit over since Cali Grill is adults only and I couldn't remove the kids and one of the 1 QS meal DD and I won't be attending. We have a prepaid CRT ADR already.

Some of the QS meals has us at $50 but I know for a few they'll be cheaper since they'll be at the be at our resorts (Capt Cooks, Hurricane Hanna's, Boardwalk Bakery) and we will have refillable mugs. Also DD gets sick of kids meals and I can see me and her sharing an adult meal and just buying an extra side to supplement.

I'm guessing we will be around $1600 for food.
