How accurate are ride construction dates?

I see Dumbo is set to reopen on Feb 12. We'll be visiting Feb 14th-19th. Is Disney pretty accurate with their dates or is it like regular construction (waaaaay behind schedule)?

For construction (like "Expedition Everest") or MAJOR rehab ("small world"), they tend to fudge the opening dates or list them as very general -- "Opening Spring 2005", etc.

For a normal annual rehab, like Dumbo, the dates should be accurate. Usually, if Disney lists a specific date, they'll stick to it.

If Dumbo says the reconstruction starts on Jan. 10, does that mean it's closed that day? We arrive Jan 9th (late) and I'm wondering if we will be able to ride Dumbo on the 10th or if we should change our arrival date so we can get to Dumbo on the 9th. This is our first trip to the World and I really wanted to get pictures of my girls on Dumbo!!!!

Usually the ride closes at park closing the day before the first listed refurb day. So if it was closed Jan 10 to Feb 12, then the 9th would be the last day it was open. I agree with WDSearcher, they're usually pretty accurate with their regular refurb dates. There's a chance they might change, but if Dumbo is a must, you might consider getting to it on the 9th.
