How accurate are rehab dates?

My family is planning a Sept. trip to WDW. We love haunted mansion, and I just read that it is scheduled for rehab until Sept. 13. We were going either the 8th - 15th or the 15th - the 22nd. Are the dates for reopening after a rehab usually accurate? We were leaning toward the earlier week, but now I'm wondering if we should take the later one.

We were there last year when POTC was closed, and scheduled to reopen on July 8 when the movie came out. They actually opened it July 1 - our last day there. :cheer2: CMs told us they guarantee that it will be opened by the official date, but will reopen sooner if they complete the rehab early.

Well, except the Liberty Belle... which went from a few weeks to, ultimately, fourteen months. But that was a VERY unique instance.

Rehabs are extremely well-planned, before they start. Disney knows before they start the work what needs to be done and how long it will take.

That, combined with Disney's apparent intention to have the attraction open in time for the first Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party (expected mid-month) makes it a pretty sure bet you'll get to ride it, no matter which of those two weeks you visit!
