How absolutely essential is it for you to do Universal every trip?

Have you ever missed Universal when in Orlando? we really loved it and found it a great three days.

Being the bargain hunter that I am, we got the USF AP, because WDW AP prices were becoming ridiculous. I figured, well, any park will do. Much to my surprise, we find that we enjoy USF/IOA so much, a trip to Orlando would not be complete without it. We usually spend 3 days there also, and then go to DVC for 6 days.

We also really enjoy staying in the USF hotels. I enjoy them more than the Disney hotels (but not the DVC!)

A trip to Orlando just isn't the same without several visits to USF/IOA. We, too, have annual passes and spend MUCH more time there than at WDW. Cost-wise, it's a much better investment for us to have annual passes at USF/IOA than at WDW. There are 5 (1 is an infant) of us and we could NEVER afford annual passes for WDW, but they were almost painless for US/IOA.

There are times that I visit Orlando and don't even walk through WDW gates! :)

My first trip to Orlando was to the opening of Islands of Adventure in 1999 . I thought I'd NEVER check out Disney, but I did by my third trip. I like it but USF is my "home park" so NO I never visit without a trip there, EVER!

We've done US and IOA every time. We wouldn't miss them.

As much as I love Disney, IOA is in a league of it's own when it comes to "thrill rides", so no, we never give it a miss.

The only reason we go to Orlando is to experience Universal!!!

We stayed at PBH two years ago and with FOTL for onsite guests - my girls don't want to go to Disney and stand in line. We're going for the 3rd time in as many years this December!!

We've been to Disney 4 times (5th trip coming up :teeth: ) and Universal for the last 3. The thing that keeps us coming back to Universal now is the Portofino Bay Hotel...without it, I don't think we'd do Universal every trip. We do enjoy Universal, but for us, it's the appetizer...Disney is the entree AND the dessert. :) JMHO

This post made me laugh ! We haven't been to Disney in probably over 7 years, & we couldn't be happier about it !!
Don't flame me for this, but we have NO plans to go back to Disney, EVER !!
We are asbsolute converts of Universal & couldn't be happier about it, the hotels, the service, the luxury, (SIGH) we are Portofino/Universal/Islands of Adventure addicts ! We are even converting our friends by bringing them with us!!!!
Remember ~~ No flaming me for my preference~~
I don't mind if you love Disney, so don't mind that I love Universal !! :)

We have skipped WDW on our last 4 trips to Orlando. We are more into the thrill rides, Hulk, Dr Doom, and Dueling Dragons, even though we live in Boston we have AP's. We keep saying we'll check out the Tower of Terror and the Rock and Roll Rollercoaster again "next" trip but I cant see paying $50 each for 2 rides.....

Maybe we will hit WDW next trip, but I doubt it.
