We are going to be spending a couple of nights at Shades of Green and were told that making a PS ressie for Ohana's would be fun for the adults and the kids and would be convenient since it is at the Poly...what do you all think? Would the kids be entertained at dinner...what is it like?

Love Ohana. Food is good and they are very entertaining. Sometimes they have CM's that sing and they usually do something during dinner to get the kids up. My children are 12 and love it there. They especially like the food that comes out on skewers. Even my picky daughter loves the food. It is a great choice for dinner.

PS. Right across the bridge in Jersey :earsboy:

Ohana's is awesome and it's not just enjoyable for the kids. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. I would highly recommend this dinner. We love it!

I'll add my joy to the others!! My dd 8 was entertained, she was glad she had a Hawain outfit tho (that was coincedence for DD my mom sent her one, so then I went to the Goodwill and bought shirts for Dh and me!!)

DD is not a meat eater, so we asked for French fries and a "bowl of ketchup" and they obliged, made dd day!

DH and I enjoyed the appetizer, the food, and watching dd, mostly we noticed she was entertained, and we had a lovely evening!!

We love this place so much, we now eat there the first and last night of our vacation.

We also love this place so much. It is a tradition to eat there on our vacations to WDW. The food is always great and the entertainment is great for the kids. Go and have a great time!! :flower:

We love 'Ohana too! We were just there last week with our friends, it was their first time there and they were amazed at the amount of food that kept coming. Kids have a great time here.

Yes, Yes, Yes, just goooooo!! Love the atomsphere and the food.

Make your PS around the time of fireworks "Wishes". Make sure you arrive 15 minutes early before your ressie as well and request a window seat.

So you can see the fireworks from Ohana? Sorry, I am really new to all of this and am trying to figure out how things work before December..lol. We will probably be getting into Orlando on Friday at like 3pm and then checking into the Shades of Green...so we only have friday night...saturday at MK and saturday night...then leave for 4 night Wonder cruise...woohoo!

Yes, if you make your PS's for around the time Wishes comes on, you can see it from Ohana's. And I believe they pipe the music in as well. Or maybe I'm thinking of California Grill. Either way, you can see them. But you need to make sure to ask for a table by the window. Have a great time!

Ohana's is one of my family's favorite places to eat. We didn't eat their on our December trip and my DS will not let the family forget it. So it will be first on our summer trip.

My DS 10 and I ate here for the first time last year. He specifically requested that we go back this trip.

ENJOY!

That is by far our fav place to eat in Disney, for that matter anywhere. Kids hula hoop while someone plays the yukalaly (spelling?). All you can eat meat, roasted turkey, tiger shrimp, mmmmmmmm I'm getting hungry.

O'Hana's is the best. We go every trip. They do coconut races and the hoola-hoop for the kids. For the coconut races, the kids push a coconut around the restaurant with a small broom. They do have an alternate menu for picky little ones, just ask your server. Make sure you save room for the extra yummy pineapple and warm caramel sauce dessert.

Ok, you guys are making me hungry, and I just had lunch! ha ha.
It will be our 1st trip to MK but only staying for 2 days at the poly after our cruise. The first day (thursday) we'll be driving over from the cape, and thought we'd just hang out at the volcano pool and enjoy the EWP and Wishes that night. How prettied up do you have to be to go to Ohana's? What times are EWP and Wishes typcially? What are the prices for Ohana? Menu? This just sounds wonderful. Should we get a PS on our first night or 2nd night (fri) as we leave on sat. We'll only have a 1 day ticket to MK, so I'm leaning towards the first night, but hate to have to clean up too much after swimming (was originally thinking of getting take out pizza) and saving the whole makeup thing for the next day. What would you do?

Another one of the staple restaurants for our trips. We love Ohana. Make your ressies around Wishes time and ask for a window seat. They allot around 90 minutes from starting to finishing a meal. They turn down the lights and pipe in the music during the fireworks. During the meal they play hula hoops and have coconut races for the kids. Be prepared to eat!! I also stayed at SOG years ago and it was great, the rooms were huge.

If they do all these activities, are there certain times you are supposed to ask for a PS? Otherwise, do they do the activities per table instead of per area or restaurant? I'm a little confused. Can I just ask for a PS anytime I want it?

Ohana's is a great experience- the food is plentiful and the staff are your "cousins". The pineapple and caramel dipping sauce is to die for. They do have fun for the kids- such as coconut races and my kids always love getting the bucket of slush for dessert! You won't be disappointed. :cool1:

The activities happened maybe every 30 minutes or so. When we last dined there, they did both the hula hoop contest and the coconut races twice while we were seated.
