I will be on the Mar 6-10 cruise and am interested in how easy/difficult it is to go to the Atlantis casino for an hour or two? Do we have to do the Discover Atlantis excursion (we may anyway). Does this allow you explore on your own? Or is there some other way to go to just the casino?

Thank you! Have a great weekend!

Very easy to go to the Atlantis casino on your own. Quickest way is to get a taxi at the end of the pier. You'll find any number of drivers anxious to take you there. Make sure you know the price before you get in the limo or van (others will most likely be going over with you). We always paid $4.00pp each way. As I've mentioned in other posts - be prepared to possibly have your heart skip a few beats. The rules of the road are different there!

Have a great time.

Going on your own is a great way to do it if your just going for the casino...well going on your own is great for other reasons also...but like the previous poster said..it's easy to get there on you own. Once your there you will be able to do SOME exploring on your own....but there are some areas that are for hotel guests only. But on your own you can look around the hotel, the casino and the shopping area. You can also pay admission to the aquarium if you wish. And there is a public beach real near by.

My 18 year old DD and I took a taxi to the Atlantis because he wanted to try his luck at the casino. We were only going to stay for a short time but he was winning playing poker and we ended up staying over 3 hours. It was fun and easy to get to.
