Hi everyone! Just wanted to intro myself, since I think I'll be hanging around for a bit...love the attitude in here!

I'm Tara, I've been running foreeeeverrrrrrr, and just discovered the awesomeness of Disney races last January. I've got W&D, Tink (half and 10K) and Princess coming up, so lots of fun.

Can't wait to get to know everyone better.

Welcome! You will like it here - this is a very positive board.

Hi Tara! I'm running the w&d, tink and princess (GSC) coming up too. This board rocks! No one understands the runDisney obsession better than these DisPeeps!

Feel free to chime in on any of the threads. Right now we're in the "omg it's almost here!- is my training plan ok?- Uh-oh I'm injured!- what's your plans for parks and meals?" phase over on the wine and dine thread. Lol. :)

Hi!

I'm Leslie. I found my running shoes last May. I have two 10ks under my belt and I'm going for my first half, a bucket list item for me (running Disney), at the Wine & Dine next month. I'll have helpers bc my SIL/BIL are both running it, too.

:)

Welcome to all. I found this board 5 years ago--don't even remember how--and decided to run the Minnie 15k (RIP) as a total novice runner. And you may find--as I have--that it can be a roller coaster ride of great runs and injury, self-doubt and triumph.

The one constant is that you will have a group of people who totally understand what you're going through and who will cheer for you both virtually and live (in those great lime green shirts, and likely with Twizzlers!)

It may actually inspire you to move beyond Disney and try other things--races or not--that you wouldn't have thought you could do before.

Good luck and welcome to the team!

Maura

This is so true! Last year after I ran the wine & dine, we went out with friends to California Grill the next evening to celebrate and I tried sushi for the first time ever. Loved it! I had been terrified to try it before. Amazing what doing what you never thought you could can do for your willingness to try new things! :thumbsup2

Welcome to all!

This is a very friendly and supportive board - as is the runner's community in general. I think you will find a home here. If you have a question, ask it. I know through conversations at forum meet ups that there are several who lurk and want to ask the very same question that was just asked.

Hey, I know you! How's that Achilles feeling? :wave2:

Squeeeeeeeee! Hello! I love familiar faces. :) It's...well...not good. So I'll get through these next two races (RnR this week and W&D) and take a break.

I think you're plan is a good one. If you want to take it easy at W&D, then you can run really slow with me! :)
