Alex,
Please don't be offended by all of the WW defections from the challenge. I think it just illustrates one of the huge philosophical differences between Atkins and WW. Atkins takes a very aggressive and revolutionary approach- you change your whole lifestyle to do it right, and the results can be very quick and dramatic. WW takes a more holistic approach- moderation is the key here, and the results are more gradual.
I was ready to bail and post to explain why I was not comfortable with the challenge after you wrote:

For one week you have to stay one point UNDER your allowed points every day with no banking
I think you now understand that this would not be legal on the Weight Watchers program, and I was happy to see that you quickly amended the challenge to being no more than one point over the minimum points.
I will be happy to take a challenge to stay on program- within the points range, using exercise and banked points, and faithfully journaling. That approach is working for me. I am not comfortable
modifying the program by encouraging WW WISHers to eat below their points range or by disallowing the exercise points. I'm not comfortable encouraging fellow WWs to do this, especially since so many of our WISHers are doing WW on their own, and this board is their only source of WW support and information.
I guess I'm saying that I'm up for a challenge to journal faithfully, or be sure to drink the recommended water each day, or to stay within your points range. But I'm not up for a challenge that changes the WW points accounting or encourages us to go off program.
Didn't mean to sound like I mounted a soapbox. I just want people to understand why we're seeing so many defections here.
