Hi friends! Welcome to my marathon weekend PTR. With only a little less than a month to go until our trip, I figured it's about time I started putting this pre-trip together. Before we get going, let's introduce our cast of characters:
Me: I'm Nikki. 30 years old, career counselor by day and avid reader by night. I live in upstate NY, which has made training outdoors very challenging recently. My favorite characters are Belle, Aurora, and Daisy Duck. I've been going to WDW since I was 23. Favorite park is EPCOT.

This is my sister, Jessica. She's to blame for adding ten miles onto my original plan. But I'm getting ahead of myself. Jessie is 27, lives in Washington, DC and works for the Federal Government as an archivist for the Architect of the Capital. She is a feisty four foot nine vegan who loves the indie rock and folk music scene. She's only been to WDW once when she was 22 (I took her as a grad school graduation gift) and doesn't really share the Disneymania. I actually have no idea who her favorite characters are or which park she enjoys the most. But I do know that she's really looking forward to a long weekend of relaxation sister time with a half marathon thrown in!
Here she is after completing the Color Run 5k in DC earlier this year.
And one more "normal" picture of the two of us. Here we are in San Diego this summer on the top of Mount Soledad:
I am a little pressed for time, so here are the basics about our trip and I will add a more detailed story about how this all came to be in the first place later.
Who- we covered the main characters, but in addition to Jessie and myself will be joined by about 25,000 other Disney loving runners, including some personal friends from another Disney site.
When- Jessie and I fly in from our respective hometowns on Thursday the 9th and fly back home on Sunday the 12th.
Where- Boardwalk Inn!!!! I am SUPER pumped about our hotel. We are not doing park tickets (which is going to be so difficult for me) and plan on spending a lot of time at the resort, which is the complete opposite of how I like to "do Disney." So with that much resort time PLUS running 13.1 miles, there was no way I was staying Value like I usually do.
