How 2 Big Kids Conquered 'The World' In 6 Days - UPDATED Aug 11 - Conclusion

Still hanging in there...loving all the pictures.:thumbsup2
I Love the Adventurers Club. Can't wait to here about that and see those pictures!popcorn::

Another great day!!! The fireworks pictures came out great!!! Did you use a tripod? And what setting did you use?

I kinda chuckle when I read the ECV part...and I am sorry you didn't get a Dole Whip. Looking forward to reading your next day!

Today we decided to make a leisurely return to EPCOT, then head over to MGM for our late lunch ADR at Sci-Fi. Upon arriving at EPCOT, our first stop was the photo shop just inside the gates. Pal Mickey had suddenly gotten sick and was no longer speaking to us. After a quick fiddling, he was back jabbering non-stop and we were on our way to Soarin’ where we snagged a Fast Pass for later in the day.

Next stop was the Character Connection where we were glad to see it was a fairly short line, or so we thought so. The line moved quite quickly but it was when we entered the building that we noticed the line was much longer – we had probably a 30 minute wait to see the Characters … oh well, we didn’t have to be anywhere until 3:00 pm.

Even the monks like the characters at Disney …

After leaving the Character Connection we headed towards World Showcase and a quick stop at the Cantina San Angel for a hold over until our ADR at Sci-Fi.

Just after leaving Mexico, we ran into Panchito and Donald

Next stop was Norway

After Norway, it was getting close to our return time for Soarin, so made our way back over to Future World. Our wait in the Fast Pass line was fairly quick, and looking at the standby line, we were glad we grabbed the Fast Passes earlier that morning.

Since we still had a bit of time before we had to leave for MGM, we headed back over to World Showcase to visit the UK and Morocco. After losing track of time, we decided we had better get moving and arrived at MGM just before the parade was about to start.

We high-tailed it over to Sci-Fi, arriving with 5 minutes to spare. We took a seat to wait, and no sooner did our butts hit the seat when we were called for our table. Of course we’ve read both good and bad reviews about Sci-Fi, but we sincerely enjoy dining there, if nothing else, for the atmosphere (and the great milk-shakes!).

After our bellies were full, we decided to head over to the Hat. If you remember from our previous installments, we had a habit of just missing the characters for photos. Today we were lucky …

After browsing through some of the shops, we headed back to the resort to get ready for our entertaining Kungaloosh-fueled evening at the Adventurer’s Club.

We actually ran into her twice in the same day - in EPCOT at the UK pavilion and later that afternoon at MGM by the big hat with Bert and the Penguins.

I just found your trip report and I LOVE it! :goodvibes The pictures are amazing especially the topiaries in EPCOT. I can't wait for the next installment! popcorn::

LOVING your trip report! Your photos are gorgeous, great camera and great skills!

For some reason, your pictures of the actual ride vehicles (like at Small World) are making me so Disney-sick! I can't wait to get there in October!

We have both been writing the installments for this trip report however because of what took place at the AC this particular evening, Lee will be writing this installment on his own.

We headed back to the resort and rested up for a few hours. Out of an abundance of caution, we chose to leave the good camera at the resort and just bring our point & shoot. Around 8:00 we headed down to the bus stop, choosing to leave the car at the resort so we could have a few drinks. We got there just as the bus was pulling away but figured we’d just sit back on the bench and wait for the next one. After about half a dozen people came and stood in line for the next one, we figured that perhaps we had better get in line as well. As it turned out, by the time the bus arrived there were too many people waiting and quite a few had to stay behind and wait for the next one. We smiled and waved buh-bye to them when we pulled away. :duck:

After a 20 min bus ride we got to DTD and decided to browse in the shops for a little while. We both absolutely love DTD and browsing through the shops is our favourite evening pastime while we’re at WDW. When we got to Orlando last October we had an earlier flight and were able to drop off our luggage at the hotel, change, then go spend our evening at DTD which was fantastic. Anyhoooo I’m rambling and getting away from this TR so I’ll just grab the reins and get back on track. :rolleyes1

After about an hour of browsing we headed to PI and bought our passes for the Adventurer’s Club. :goodvibes

When we arrived Kiki the maid was waiting at the door to greet us. I absolutely hate this picture because I look like I’m already loaded but when it was taken the strongest thing I had to drink was a mug full of coke back at the resort.

May21-ac02.jpg

We also ran into Graves the butler at the door. He seemed quite pleased when I greeted him with a hearty “Kungaloosh to you Graves”.

We entered during a show in the treasure room and watched the rest of it from the top floor.

May21-ac04.jpg

After it had wrapped up, we headed downstairs and grabbed a few Kungalooshes. :drinking1

If anyone’s wondering how to make a Kungaloosh, here’s the recipe from allears.net

1 cup Daily's Strawberry Daiquiri Mix
1/4 cup orange juice
1/4 cup Captain Morgan's Spiced Rum
1/4 cup blackberry brandy
Toss it in a blender with enough ice to make it slushy.

Bonny snapped a few quick pictures of Col. Critchlow Suchbench, the Yakoose, and a few more of the treasure room while I made quick work of my Kungaloosh and went to grab a refill.

We took in a show in the mask room then headed back out into the treasure room to watch the show with Babylonia. popcorn::

Watching the audience members (victims?) picked for participation during the show in the treasure room I couldn’t help but feel that “Thank god it isn’t me” feeling although the pins they received for their participation were kinda neat (yes I‘m a pin collector).

We then headed into the library and were fortunate enough to get a table close to the stage. We were talking about how much we were enjoying the show when Club President Pamelia Perkins came to our table and told me she noticed how I couldn’t keep my eyes off her and how I was undressing her with my eyes. Of course I’m more than happy to play along as I’m 1) a smart alec and 2) good at thinking fast (for an example think back to Snow White). I was going to tell her I was actually looking at Kiki next to her but I decided to tell her I’m attracted to powerful women and I couldn’t help myself. She seemed to like this answer though not as much as Bonny who was laughing so hard she was crying (and she was still on drink #1).

The show (The Radiothon) started and sure enough it didn’t take long for Pamelia to start winking and blowing kisses at me. Fletcher Hodges told me to drink…lots. Not that I needed the encouragement but I took his advice to heart and finished up and ordered a refill. When she got to her song she dedicated it to me, at which point I got called up to the stage where she sang to me. Bonny was definitely enjoying herself but she was able to stop laughing long enough to snap these two pics

May21-ac08.jpg

I didn’t get a pin for my on-stage performance and was kinda bummed about that but it was still a lot of fun. We went back out to the treasure room and just sat and relaxed a bit while there was another show in the mask room.

After a short while the crowd began to move back into the library again for Samantha Sterling’s show. We grabbed another table slightly further away from the stage. Once the show started she chose her audience member to humiliate…I mean involve…from the back of the library. Yes kiddies…no place is safe at the AC! He was quite smart and chose the “I don’t speak English” route. After getting a few chuckles at his expense, she moved away to choose another target. I turn my attention to my Kungaloosh which is getting low and when I look up you-know-who is standing next to our table staring right at me with a Cheshire Cat grin. She asks me the usual…what’s your name, where are you from…I’m honest and she seemed quite pleased to find out I was a fellow Canadian. When she asked if Bonny was my wife my inner smart alec took over and replied “Nope…I wanted to have fun so I left my wife back at home”. The whole audience started howling at that one and Samantha knew she had found someone she could have fun with. She asked where I had met Bonny to which I replied “Prison pen pal program…she was doing some time for an unfortunate incident involving her husband”. We bantered back and forth like that for several minutes and everyone was having a great time. Bonny tried to take a few pics but she was laughing too hard to take any. She finally did take one when Samantha took me onstage.

May21-ac10.jpg

Finally when her show was over she gave me a pin and thanked me for being a great sport. We finished up our drinks and decided it was time to leave. Partly because it was getting late and partly because Pamelia and Kiki had returned and were promising the audience I’d be dancing in a thong for the next show (little did they realize I had enough Kungalooshes in me to actually do it :scared1: ).

Here’s a pic showing my new pin (the one on the right)

We had a great time at the AC and are looking forward to going back during our next trip which is just over 2 months away!

Well all this Kungaloosh talk is making me thirsty...where's my blender...

What a fun night! I didn't make it to the Adventurer's Club on my last trip but it sounds like I need to make it a priority on my next trip.

Lee and Bonny great trip report. What time do you suggest getting to the Adventurers Club? I went around 8 years ago but have a harder time staying up at night and was wondering when all of the action starts.

Glad you're enjoying the TR! There are quite a few nights where they have private functions and the AC doesn't even open to the public until 9:00 so when we go we try to time it to get there between 9 and 9:30. That way we can enjoy a few hours there and still get back to the hotel in time to get a decent night's sleep for the next day.

That was so much fun to read, I can only imagine how much fun it was to actually be there! You tell a great story, and I LOVE how quickly you think on your feet! They must have loved having you there.

Glad Bonny could stop laughing long enough to take some pictures. I really must get to the AC next time we're there.

I always wondered what it was like and now I know. Thanks for the update I think I may have to try it.

thanks for the trip down memory lane. last sept. us 3 sisters went to the AC and had such a great time.:dance3: 3 girls alone there so we were "picked" on a lot. :tiptoe: can't wait to go back.:thumbsup2
